Creative Connections: Last Post!
http://inf1240creativeconnections.blogspot.com/2013/12/last-post.html
INF1240 Research Methods Forum. Friday, 6 December 2013. The neighbourhood I want to work with is low-income, and I know they wouldn't associate free programing with poor quality, but it makes me wonder how this may affect other organizations wanting to become involved. Moreover, if the public sector does commit, would they give space or staff? If so can their budgets accommodate this? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Research question or moving target? Rest in Peace, Madiba. The same but different.
Creative Connections: September 2013
http://inf1240creativeconnections.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
INF1240 Research Methods Forum. Saturday, 28 September 2013. I am considering a community informatics topic for my research project; to what extent do DIY online communities offer a viable alternative to ‘capital’ exchange of services/goods/information? This question needs a lot of work, but it is a beginning. The daisy exercise was interesting – but honestly, it did not show me an ything I did not already know, at least at this stage in my planning. Week 2 blogging question. Friday, 27 September 2013.
Creative Connections: A Case to Consider
http://inf1240creativeconnections.blogspot.com/2013/12/a-case-to-consider.html
INF1240 Research Methods Forum. Thursday, 5 December 2013. A Case to Consider. This is somewhat of an oddball post, as I am making up for a missed one over the reading week. I'm actually not sure why I didn't catch onto the fact that we would be posting over the reading week, as looking back, Professor Galey put up plenty of notices on both Blackboard and the course blog! Perhaps because the term "case study" is used as an umbrella concept to describe a number of different research and teaching approache...
Creative Connections: Idea emergence
http://inf1240creativeconnections.blogspot.com/2013/12/idea-emergence.html
INF1240 Research Methods Forum. Thursday, 12 December 2013. My research question, originally conceived: to what extent do DIY online communities displace capital activity? The major shift that has occurred in my thinking over this course is the realization that I am not an economist and I am not trained in economic disciplinary methods. Furthermore, my initial research question itself is huge. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Research question or moving target? Rest in Peace, Madiba. A Case to Consider.

INF1240 Research Methods Forum. Friday, 6 December 2013. Does anyone know how to leave lines between paragraphs on the blog? I put them in on the draft but when I publish it, my writing formats as one big blog blob with no paragraphs. Please let me know, someone, if you know. Maybe my computer is part of the problem. Thanks, Cynthia. 6 December 2013 at 08:48. 6 December 2013 at 12:59. If the above suggestion doesnt work you could try some basic html. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A Case to Consider.

Group research blog for INF1240 Research Methods Fall Semester 2011 Faculty of Information, University of Toronto. December 5, 2011. I can most certainly see the benefits of being mindful when selecting methods because many issues can arise from selecting the wrong ones, employing too many or employing too few. The important thing is that research is collected effectively and accurately, and the right methods are the key, so consideration is fundamental. December 5, 2011. December 4, 2011. And I have to ...

Friday, 8 April 2016. Print Vs. Ebooks. In week ten I wrote about how I think it would be interesting to compare and contrast the reading experiences of two groups of people, one group having been given the print copy of a book and the other having been given the ebook version of the same book. This week I stumbled upon some statistics concerning the use of ebooks in U.S. public libraries as I was perusing the Library Journal. Webpage that professor Galey linked us to in his week twelve follow up. I thou...
