A simple southern girl on life, love, and everyday blessings. Newer posts →. August 2, 2014. Brooklyn hit the 7 month mark a couple weeks ago and wow, is she learning new things fast! She is officially crawling like a champ. And she doesn’t just crawl…she crawls fast! Maybe But maybe not. I swear it helped us at least cut back on the daily dose of Tylenol for what its worth. Here is a little glimpse into life with sweet Brooklyn…. She is a little too fast for a quality selfie. This girl loves some lil...

Lent | Southern Blessing

A simple southern girl on life, love, and everyday blessings. Healthy Mom = Healthy Baby →. March 7, 2014. Growing up in the Methodist Church, I am accustomed to “giving up” something for Lent each year. In middle school and high school I used to give up things like soda or sweets. In college, I started giving up fried foods. See the theme? Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Fill in your details below or click an icon to log in:. Address never made public). 4 months! | Southern Blessing
https://southernblessing.wordpress.com/2014/04/29/4-months
A simple southern girl on life, love, and everyday blessings. Sweet Baby Baptism →. April 29, 2014. Brooklyn Love is 4 months (and 8 days) and more perfect with each day. It seems like she is a totally different baby than she was a month ago–I will honestly never get over how fast they grow. She shared her special day with Easter this year, so we were able to get a few precious pics in her Sunday best. I guess the sticker got in her way? Finally a family picture–on the swing that Papa built🙂. The week b...

2 months! | Southern Blessing
https://southernblessing.wordpress.com/2014/03/03/2-months
A simple southern girl on life, love, and everyday blessings. March 3, 2014. Weight: 10 lb 2 oz (19%). Height: 22.64 inches (57%). Head: 37.7 cm (31%). Our baby girl is 2 months old! Where does time go? Brooklyn’s First “snow day” on February 12, 2014. This girl LOVES her paci. We recently discovered the MAM pacifiers and she is a big fan (and so are we! And next door neighbor) loaned up their swing which has been a big hit. Mommy and daddy can actually eat with free arms (most of the time). Laughing at ...

A String of Purls: October 2014
http://astringofpurlsnc.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
A String of Purls. Tuesday, October 28, 2014. And as I read it this morning, I was reminded why I blog. I needed a reminder today of slowing down and bring present in the moments God has created for me. I need to document our lives so that I can be reminded of all that we have together, what He has allowed us to share as a family. So, this is a long. Post on what we've been up to for the past 2 weeks, but I know I'll be excited to read it a year from now to see how much we've grown and changed. Brent got...

A String of Purls: May 2015
http://astringofpurlsnc.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
A String of Purls. Thursday, May 28, 2015. After composing myself from making every mistake in the world 2 weeks ago, I am happy to say I have not burned down anything or locked myself out of anywhere.so life is good! Emma's glue "stitches" on her face have fallen off and we are putting neosporin like crazy on it, hoping it won't scar. I know that sounds vain of me, but life is hard enough without being a girl with a scar on your cheek. The cats love dinner time because Emma is such an easy target. I dro...

A String of Purls: Graduation 2015
http://astringofpurlsnc.blogspot.com/2015/05/graduation-2015.html
A String of Purls. Wednesday, May 6, 2015. Every late spring, I get a cold.I can't complain too much since I escaped winter without getting the flu or any other awful germs that go around. But summer colds are the worst. Luckily, I was not sick over the weekend, so I was able to celebrate Peace's graduation. I am immensely proud of all my students, and am blessed to get to work with some of the smartest and most wonderful of them on campus. It wouldn't be a Peace graduation without getting in the fountain.

A String of Purls. Wednesday, May 13, 2015. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Y'all, a girl can never have enough jewelry.and I'm super excited about this little beauty that just made it's way onto my neck! I saw the idea from a super cute mom-daughter duo that makes them in eastern NC. Let be clear that I am completely in love with their stuff and will be buying some at some point (just not right now.it was either air conditioning in my car or jewelry.hubs made me get AC). Bead store in Ralei...

A String of Purls: A whole lot of randomness...
http://astringofpurlsnc.blogspot.com/2015/05/a-whole-lot-of-randomness.html
A String of Purls. Tuesday, May 12, 2015. A whole lot of randomness. Just a snippet of life these days. Last week was Teacher Appreciation week, and I admit, I was not on top of it this year. I wish I could afford to give Emma's teachers all something really special because I truly am sooo thankful for the awesome care they give Emma.but ironically, I am paying for daycare.which means I have no money. (If you don't know, good daycare is outrageous.just sayin.). I stuffed it all inside, and wallah! Emma a...

A String of Purls: Mother's Day 2015
http://astringofpurlsnc.blogspot.com/2015/05/mothers-day-2015.html
A String of Purls. Sunday, May 10, 2015. This year's Mother's Day was perfectly imperfect.just what motherhood is all about. Embracing the chaotic moments that one by one seem impossible and awful, but all together make life lovely and beautiful. Sunday morning, Brent gave me this card.which still makes me crack up! We headed to church and Brent was awesome all day - I barely had to do anything - which is exactly what this day should be like! Jesus take the wheel. You never want to hear those words.
