The Elements and More...: Beautiful poems
http://gujbush.blogspot.com/2009/03/beautiful-poems.html
The Elements and More. I am Anand. To just a few selected people, I live upto my name and am fun to be with. And for most others, I am THE DEVIL'S ADVOCATE. :). All along my life, I have been in various parts of India, so won't like to name one place as THE PLACE to which I belong. Completed my MBA from one of the 'reputed' institutes in India in 'one of the best years' possible - 2009! As for now, guess this much of 'About Me' should suffice. Rest when I discover more of myself. :) Just Kiddin'. नि...

Henrik Torstensson's Weblog: Outcomes follow actions
http://torstenssonsweblog.blogspot.com/2015/03/outcomes-follow-actions.html
It is simple but not easy. March 3, 2015. When running a startup (or probably any organisation), it's important to remember that achieving a target or changing a specific metric require certain actions taken by specific people. One way to sanity check if a metric can be met at a specific time is to:. Understand what actions (a new feature, increased marketing etc) are the primary drivers of the metric. Estimate how long it will take to implement that action with a given number of resources. Angellist Syn...

Loyalty is Underrated
http://lhartwich.com/post/33743989767/loyalty-is-underrated
October 16, 2012. Loyalty is an underrated commodity in today’s world. Without loyalty, there is a lack of trust. And without trust, it’s virtually impossible to accomplish anything meaningful, if anything at all. I’ve always tried to treat loyalty and trust as sacrosanct. I’m not perfect, but I give it an honest effort, and I truly feel that my life is better as a result. And even if that’s not the case, at the very least, it feels good. Tags: loyalty is underrated. Getting Started is the Hardest Part
http://lhartwich.com/post/14235259429/getting-started-is-the-hardest-part
December 14, 2011. Getting Started is the Hardest Part. Getting started is often the hardest part. Why do most people live lives of minimal consequence? Why do most people not question the world around them? Why do most people take the shortcut? Because it’s easy. Because it’s the path of least resistance. Because that old saying is true, ignorance. Why tackle that new project today, when you can always start tomorrow? Why write that new blog post when you’re so busy with everything else?

Henrik Torstensson's Weblog: Startuppodden interviews Sorosh Tavakoli
http://torstenssonsweblog.blogspot.com/2015/03/startuppodden-interviews-sorosh-tavakoli.html
It is simple but not easy. March 5, 2015. Startuppodden interviews Sorosh Tavakoli. Mikael Zackrisson (Startuppodden) has conducted a very, very interesting interview with Sorosh Tavakoli. Founder and former CEO of Videoplaza (as a former investor and board member , I'm likely quite biased with regard to the interestingness :-) . 1 hour and 44 minutes about Videoplaza and building a company. One of the best interviews by startuppodden so far. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Both Sides of the Table.

Henrik Torstensson's Weblog: Swedish Syndicates Better Than Angellist? (if implemented by 3rd party)
http://torstenssonsweblog.blogspot.com/2013/09/swedish-syndicates-better-than.html
It is simple but not easy. September 30, 2013. Swedish Syndicates Better Than Angellist? If implemented by 3rd party). I got a comment to yesterday's post on Angellist Syndicates, unfortunately unsigned. Agree Frustrating that Syndicates are only applicable to Delaware based startups. My question is how long will it take for Angelist to move into the Nordics with Syndicates - or will someone copy the model first? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Freemium strategy and getting free users to pay. Angelli...

Henrik Torstensson's Weblog: The dots will connect (Omaha Edition)
http://torstenssonsweblog.blogspot.com/2015/03/the-dots-will-connect-omaha-edition.html
It is simple but not easy. March 1, 2015. The dots will connect (Omaha Edition). As an excuse to try write a couple of sentences or paragraphs on this blog on a regular basis again. I won't limit the subjects to quite the extent I, at least mentally, have done so far. If I find it interesting to write about, I might just do that. Yesterday Berkshire Hathaway's 2014 Annual Letter to Shareholders. Find something you like (or even love) doing and can do for a long time. That will have a major impact on ...

October 09, 2012. Advice is Nice but Getting Things Done is Better. If there is one thing I have learned on this crazy journey, it’s that advice is nice, but getting things done is better. In a world of blogs, twitter, hackernews, techcrunch, etc. it’s easier than ever to find advice on starting a business, being successful, yada yada yada. The problem is, there is no “right” way to do. Tags: get things done. Advice is nice but getting things done is better. Forge your own path. Designed by Artur Kim.

So Kelly looked at the transistor and saw the past, and the past was tubes. He thereby intuited the future.". Mdash; Jon Gertner, The Idea Factory. April 15, 2013. Everyone faces the future with their eyes firmly on the past, and they don’t see what’s going to happen next.". Mdash; John Pierce, quoted in The Idea Factory. April 15, 2013.
