Andy, ITGuy: June 2008
http://andyitguy.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 27, 2008. Lying for the truth. The SANS Newsbites email today has a link to this article on Forbes.com. The real problem in this is that by lying the company as a whole is put at risk. Proper security can't be put in place because the truth isn't known. If a incident occurred as a result of this lie then it could be detrimental to the company. Again I stress that if we are to do our jobs effectively then we need to know the truth and be able to verify that truth. Posted by Andy, ITGuy. Lucki...

Sam Buchanan’s weblog. For the last few years, my employer has been working on a project for system-wide — dare I say “enterprise”? So what will I be doing? Holy frell, what have I taken on? It means I’m really damn busy. After years of being underchallenged, I am at last facing a serious challenge, trying to make sense of all the work that’s been done — in the past year especially — while still trying to contribute in a meaningful way. I am being pushed, and to be honest, I feel a. I noticed that job in...

http://andyitguy.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 28, 2008. Here's a great user awareness story from real life. My wife and I just finished attending a 4 week long Sunday School class on Parenting Preshoolers. Yesterday the girl who was the class coordinator sent out an email to the whole class. She ended the class with the following statement. If any of you are interested, please let me know and I will email her your email address. I did not want to send everyone's address to everyone without their consent.". Posted by Andy, ITGuy.

Wednesday, December 31, 2008. I hope everyone has a great New Year. 2008 was a interesting year to say the least. Let's hope that 2009 keeps us on our toes and that it's one where we kick some bad guys butts. :). Posted by Andy, ITGuy. Links to this post. Thursday, December 18, 2008. By managing expectations. When I talk with someone about their product I try to be upfront with them if there is not a fit. I also try to be upfront with them as to when I may be ready to make a decision. Andy, ITGuy: March 2008
http://andyitguy.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 21, 2008. I've been thinking of buying a MacBook Pro for a while now. It's not something that I need I just want one. Just when I think that I am ready to bite the bullet Apple does something that kind of irritates me and makes me step back and take a second look. A couple of years ago David Maynor and Johnny Cache were smeared by Apple for doing research and that left a bad taste in my mouth. Then I listened to an interview on Pauldotcom Security Weekly with Roamer. Posted by Andy, ITGuy.

http://andyitguy.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 30, 2008. I think this may be the longest stretch that I've had with no blogging. My last post was on Sept 14th. Since then I've gone on vacation and been preparing for vacation and catching up after vacation. Needless to say it's been busy. Hopefully Ill be back to regular posting now. I'm going to do a "catch-all" post to try and comment on a couple of things. I'm going to start off by going back just over 2 months to a post that Rebecca Herold made regarding awareness training.

Tuesday, October 28, 2008. Identity Theft knows no age. There has got to be a better way. My friend Mort has started a new blog. The numbers and statistics are frustrating and scary. They are also very irritating to me. Why? A name. Simple steps and checks could be put in place to verify whether or not the owner of a SSN is 5, 15 or 55 years old. As irritating as the data is there is also some good tips that we all need to follow, especially for our kids. Check out the blog to learn lots of good thin...

Patient Safely, Validated State, and Cyber Security! March 10, 2017. In medical device security.
