From the City to the Country

From the City to the Country. Tuesday, August 13, 2013. Rich weed-whacked the garden this weekend, which always makes it look instantly better. He mentioned while giving a tour of the garden last week how something was eating our kale. And indeed, the kale that had been robust and thick last week was suddenly hole-ridden and disappearing. Sunday morning I set out to figure out what was wrong. Caterpillars. You know those pretty little white butterflies that fly around the garden? Sunday, August 4, 2013.

From the City to the Country. Tuesday, May 21, 2013. Beyond the pleasures of the tastes on the table, knowing that the vegetables were from the garden, and how they were grown, just added so much to the flavor. This is why I garden! The first picture is the Broccoli Raab after I picked it. The second, of all the veggies before I made dinner, and the last picture is of the meal! Thursday, May 16, 2013. From the City to the Country. Friday, March 30, 2012. Picture of the Day. Done of the lilacs blooming in the yard. I've been burying my face in them everytime I walk past. And they scent the whole yard. Glorious! Wednesday, March 28, 2012. Picture of the Day. Am I ever glad I didn't plant yesterday! Late in the afternoon, as I was bringing in the laundry from the line and gathering lemon balm leaves for a little cocktail hour with friends (lemon balm gin martinis. Delicious! http://www.ingramfarm.blogspot.com/2013/07/summerever-so-slowly.html

From the City to the Country. Sunday, July 7, 2013. Summer.Ever so slowly. My knees are sore. My fingers keep cramping up from the hours I spent weeding today, but I am satisfied. Growing as much of our own food as I can is exhausting, but so rewarding. And we are in full anticipation of the first ripening tomatoes. There are about a dozen Taxi tomato plants with beautiful ripening fruit on them. perhaps in a week or two? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Botany of Desire. The Profitable Hobby Farm.

Home is where your story begins

Home is where your story begins. Sunday, June 24, 2012. Our last day was a rainy one. We decided to spend the afternoon in the Louvre, and we weren't the only ones.the line wrapped 1/2 way round the building. We saw the Mona Lisa, Venus De Milo, and many other ancient artifacts. We ate baguette sandwiches on the sheltered steps of the Museum, shopped along the Champs Elysees and soaked up our last moments our adventure. Posted by Ingram Family. The marble grave markers.
