the Abundant Life

Wednesday, August 7, 2013. This week I am grateful for perspective. I have found myself reading a lot of blogs lately. Blogs mainly of complete strangers, most of them with a handful of children. Because I love families. I love moms who are real and vulnerable and aren't afraid to share the highs and lows of raising kids, while staying in tune with who God created them to be. In reading about all these families, and hanging out with lots of friends who have their hobbies, their jobs, their pregnancies an...

the Abundant Life: All My Ways

http://www.inhisabundance.blogspot.com/2012/09/all-my-ways.html

Thursday, September 20, 2012. I'm ready to say it. I'm working two jobs right now. Gosh, how did this happen? The opportunity to expand my freelance work seems so exciting and invigorating until I realize how many HOURS i'm sitting in front of a computer every day. 10 hour days is not my favorite thing. Is this even what I want? I happened to agree to a really lengthy freelance job right in the middle of the busiest season of my full-time job. Way to go, Hailey. Season will pass and that. All in all, I'm...

the Abundant Life: June 2011

http://www.inhisabundance.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Wednesday, June 29, 2011. As hard as it is to watch kids deny and resist the truth of the Gospel we do not lose hope. We believe the truth of God's word in that His word does not turn void, His promises are true, His battle is real. I wake up every morning so grateful, even when I'm grumpy and treat him badly. I love him more then words. Every day my love grows more. Life is sweet because we have each other. I've never been more excited about sharing my heart and life. Thank you, my love. Do not judge me.

Chris, Sarah and Baby G: Photo Update for Month 6

http://thegilstraps08.blogspot.com/2013/11/photo-update-for-month-6.html

Monday, November 4, 2013. Photo Update for Month 6. She has discovered swinging at the park and LOVES it! Amelia can't hardly stand to be on her back anymore, she LOVES to be on her stomach. She'll even roll over to her stomach with her bottle, it's pretty funny to watch, not a very efficient way to drink a bottle! Again, has to be on her stomach! Begs the question, "how do you change a baby diaper when they are on their stomach? She loves to put anything and everything in her mouth, coffee cups included!

Saturday, December 7, 2013. Dinner with Chad and Michelle at the Melting Pot - Celebrating #5 for both of us. This date night at the Melting Pot has become an annual tradition! Weekend in the mountains, at a little bed and breakfast in a quaint town. Shopping, delicious dinner, and lots of great wine. We've been saving this bottle of Ptarmigan Cab Sauv for several years so we were pretty excited to finally get to pop it open, and it was delicious! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Follow Us by Email.

Wednesday, May 22, 2013. A few Photos from Week 6. Our first date without a baby :) Thank you to my friend Katie for watching Amelia! We knew we wouldn't make it past 8pm so we went our for brunch, so great to have a little time alone together, and so needed! For a perspective on size - Dad's arm vs. baby torso :). Photos like these are why the phrase "sleeping like a baby" exist. And at the 7 week mark we are heading to Missouri for all our family and friends to meet our little one! We walked to brunch ...

Chris, Sarah and Baby G: November 2013

http://thegilstraps08.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html

Saturday, November 23, 2013. To celebrate our friend Dave's 30th birthday, Chris and Dave went indoor skydiving. They had a great time and from what we could tell from the outside, it looked like fun! We also had a delicious dinner at a Western Trail steakhouse out in rural Colorado, southeast of Denver. The man cooking the steaks was wearing cowboy boots and a cowboy hat - which has to be a sign the steak is going to be good, right? Monday, November 4, 2013. Photo Update for Month 6. We had so much fun,...

Adventures in world missions. Posted by Jim Cato. Asymp; Leave a comment. We can only imagine what was going through Jesus’ mind as he crossed the stream, knowing that his blood would be shed for the sins of man so that man could be reconciled to God, thus replacing the slaughter of innocent lambs. For the events in the Garden of Gethsemane go to John 18. We get the full description of the meaning of this in Hebrews 9: 11-22 (ESV):. Redemption Through the Blood of Christ. Posted by Jim Cato. Sunday, May 10, 2015. Thursday, March 19, 2015. It's starting to feel a bit like spring here. Above, admire Alina's floral artwork. Right underneath the crown, you'll see Tassia's second missing tooth. Below, this is the picnic that Sybille invited me to:. So, here she is, and below is a view of La Rochelle:. Here she is at sunset:. This is in case they meet any enemies (and also, they realized that they needed the weight of the canons to make the boat navigable.). Labels: Across the Pond. In His Amazing Grip. Friday, February 28, 2014. Would you still see me as beautiful if you truly saw my heart? The deepest pits of darkness, broken pieces torn apart? The parts that cry in silence and the truths that I must hide? The ugliness within me and the pain I hold inside? Would you still see me as beautiful if you knew the words I'd said? The harmful thoughts that linger swarming round inside my head? The ways I paint a picture when I know I must pretend? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I can hear th...
