I'd even go so far as to say that most of us are far too stingy with both our time and money. It wouldn't hurt most of us to give a bit more to others. That being said, you should be aware of one very serious exception to the "be generous" rule. Don't be too generous about lending your car. Your insurance is connected to your vehicle. It doesn't matter if you're not driving at the time.

As a lawyer who handles ICBC injury claims, over the past while I've seen ICBC take a much harder line when injured people try and settle their claims.
