Monday, 2 July 2012. I have just booked a fancy night away for me and my man to celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary. God, nine years - how did that happen? It will be the first night we have spent away from the children, on our own, EVER. (ie. since they were born, I mean - not in our whole lives ever, obviously). So I got me thinkin 'bout shoes. But I really want to! So since I've still got a penchant for orange at the moment, these are a few I've got my eye on. What do you think? Links to this post.

Tuesday, June 10, 2014. Green land, pink sea. Spring was late this year, but I've been savoring it. My Massachusetts yard has become a rabbit refuge. Yesterday two of them were playing leapfrog. Who says dandelions are weeds? The wildflowers in the Catskills are enchanting. I haven't gotten up there as much as I'd like, but will make up for it this summer. I'm really into blue flowers right now, and purply blues,. I need to plant some delphiniums. Leaving her family apartment. Below are their bouquets.

Monday, May 25, 2015. On roses and peonies. I love all flowers equally. So why, I wondered, am I so obsessed with painting roses? The answer came to me last winter, when I was snowbound and leafing through the David Austen rose catalogue, fantasizing about the rose borders I would plant come spring (didn't happen). Variety is the key. There seem to be infinite variations in the colors, but also the structure of roses, which, for one as vague and messy as myself, is most appealing. May 26, 2015 at 3:15 AM.
