The other kind of creativity. I’ve finally gotten around to finishing up the four small pieces of mixed media art I have been working on for the past few months. They had slowly been coming together, a few things being added to them every week, until I felt they were done. Three pieces in the “Red and Gold” series. I did a bit of experimenting, and “Copper Dreams” was the result. You can view more pictures over at my Etsy store. It’s our national day on Sunday, so we have a long weekend of sorts...

Finding time to write. It’s not easy to find the time to write sometimes. Yesterday I met up with Catrine. To get some writing done at the local Starbucks. That did not go according to plan. We spent more time talking that we did writing. Which means. Was kind of a bust. We did challenge ourselves to write at least 2000 words this weekend, as well as do some worldbuilding. A challenge I plan on winning by a mile. Or, like at least five hundred words or something. Catrine : The Dragon and the Vagabond.

Is an urban fantasy novel about a young man named Adrian, who recently got hit by a buss and died. It was pretty messy to be honest. His life gets kind of interesting after that though. 8220;You put me through a woodchipper. Twice! The sentence that started it all. I had no plot, so characters, no idea what this story was all about. I just had that sentence. From there, a whole new world emerged. Well, sort of. As a way to get started on it. And it helped me score my third consecutive NaNo-victory! If yo...

It’s no secret I struggle with editing. I have so much fun writing the story, and have so many stories I want to tell, that I struggle with focusing on just one. I also know that if I am ever to achieve my dream of publishing my stories, I need to find a way to work editing into my writing routine. It might help if I had a proper writing routine to begin with, but let’s ignore that for a second. Reading and TV of course! By Robin Hobb. My second reading of a book I loved beyond words the first time a...

The thing about climate. I’ve been thinking a lot about climate lately. My fantasy world consists of several continents, with somewhat varied climate. As I wrote the first book, I added the landscape I needed for the story to work, and I didn’t think about how it all fit together in my world. The current location of the desert causes some trouble for the remaining continent, in terms of logical climate zones. There is also a lot of forests and hills and mountains, but I see now that I need to try to get ...
