Innovate on Purpose: April 2006

http://innovateonpurpose.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html

Blog site dedicated to ideas, conversations and approaches for sustainable, repeatable innovation. Wednesday, April 26, 2006. Is there a need for a CIO? Recently the Corante Innovation Hub members took up the question of the new "Chief Innovation Officer" and the value that such a role could bring to a firm. I think the idea of a Chief Innovation Officer is a good one, if properly implemented. Certainly ROI is one we've used in the past, but is that a realistic measure in the short run? If the VP of Sale...

Blog site dedicated to ideas, conversations and approaches for sustainable, repeatable innovation. Wednesday, December 28, 2005. Incubation as a model for idea management. The more I talk to people in innovative firms, the more I become convinced that incubation is a great model for innovation and idea management. I looked up the word incubate on www.dictionary.com. One of the definitions it provides is " To form or consider slowly and carefully, as if hatching. In most firms this type of language and ap...

Blog site dedicated to ideas, conversations and approaches for sustainable, repeatable innovation. Tuesday, May 26, 2015. Innovate your processes before innovating your products. What new needs or new segments will emerge? We worked with several clients on this issue, and almost always came to the same conclusions. Companies need to respond to this issue in one of three ways:. Create a hybrid that speeds up and reworks internal capabilities while tapping external partners for key innovation tasks. Voted ...

Innovate on Purpose: The problem with corporate innovation

http://innovateonpurpose.blogspot.com/2015/05/the-problem-with-corporate-innovation.html

Blog site dedicated to ideas, conversations and approaches for sustainable, repeatable innovation. Friday, May 15, 2015. The problem with corporate innovation. So corporate executives are faced with a couple of important questions. First, how much innovation should we do, and of what type? Second, how do we allocate resources and funds to innovation, and how do we oversee it and manage it? Can the ideas or concepts they generate enter the product development process? Until executives decide what innovati...

Innovate on Purpose: Creativity versus innovation

http://innovateonpurpose.blogspot.com/2006/05/creativity-versus-innovation.html

Blog site dedicated to ideas, conversations and approaches for sustainable, repeatable innovation. Wednesday, May 03, 2006. I hear these topics talked about in a way that somehow equates them. I think they are both important, but I strongly believe that creativity is a subset of innovation, and firms that focus only on creativity will suffer over the long run. So, when you are considering the training and capabilities necessary to help your firm generate new products and services, consider both the creat...

https://knowpreneur.wordpress.com/2009/06/07/to-reinvent-recruit-the-rebels

Practical Creativity, Innovation and Reinvention. To Reinvent, Recruit The Rebels. History is rife with stories of how people bursting with creativity were forced to take traditional safe jobs in deadening organizations while they toiled at creative pursuits on the side. This imperative to take a safe but boring job popped into my head during a recent discussion with someone who was tasked with reinventing a business operation that has been running sleepily in well-grooved tracks for some time. They had ...

Reflections on Innovation Topics: september 2010

http://rsr-innovation.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html

Mandag 20. september 2010. Ken Robinson argues that schools kill creativity. I was lucky enough to watch Sir Ken Robinson live at a conference ( Innotown. A couple of years ago. Robinson makes an entertaining and profoundly moving case for creating an education system that nurtures (rather than undermines) creativity. Robinson is an author, speaker and international advisor on education in the arts to government, non-profits, education and arts bodies. He was knighted in 2003 for services to education.

Tirsdag 4. januar 2011. 7 Innovation Secrets of Steve Jobs. 2011 has finally arrived, and I'm looking forward to new innovative gadgets that I can put my hands on! I have to admit, that personally, 2010 was a year that I willingly bought several Apple products without giving them second thoughts. Their eye-candy design, intuitive user interface and simplicity are many of the obvious selling points on the radar. Of course, many have wondered, how is Apple able to introduce these highly desirable products?

Entrepreneurs: born or made? 160;Saturday, March 13, 2010. Can entrepreneurs be made? I tend to believe so either. 8220;Silicon Valley investors often have a picture in their heads of the type of person who is worthy of funding: young, brash, stubborn, and arrogant. They believe that successful entrepreneurs come from entrepreneurial families and that they start their entrepreneurial journey by selling lemonade while in grade school. Entrepreneurs aren’t born, they’re made. Can Entrepreneurs Be Made?
