The little things that make the day brighter. Friday, July 31, 2009. I couldn't sleep last night. I was up until 1:30 shopping on Ebay for beads and fabric. I didn't buy anything, but I'm watching a zillion items. Then I tossed and turned the rest of the night unhappy and reticent. So now to a dark blue morning. I feel shaded, sunk, collapsed. The little things that make the day brighter. Monday, August 24, 2009. When I say "where's dad? With a quick cunning voice the girls immediately rush to the window in search of him. They look this way and that and if he is not there they settle back down. If he is home, they run to the door and wait anxiously for him to unlock the door and come in. They love him ever so much. The little things that make the day brighter. Tuesday, August 18, 2009. I won this vintage cigar box full of buttons on Ebay a few weeks ago. It finally arrived in the mail last week. I love it. The buttons span from the 1940s to the 1970s. I'm excited to make things with them. T-shirts with buttons, canvases with buttons in cute designs, button mobiles, scrapbook pages. Nichol had been telling her that it might be a boy and she had finally settled on the fact that it probably was. It's funny, you can see her initial excitement, the processing of the information, and then the excitement again. We are just as excited as she is about having another little girl! Welcome to our Family Blog. Wednesday, March 4, 2009. Green Eggs and Ham. Okay, these aren't the best pictures but I thought I'd post them anyway since it's been so long since we've posted any photos. Every year Nichol's Kindergarden class has "Green Eggs and Ham". She invites her students to come to the school for a special night of fun and Beaches, a local restaurant, comes and cooks the green eggs and ham for the kids. Of course, it's all to promote reading. Christina is sitting with her friend Audrey.
