A simple use-case comparison of JVM libraries for MongoDB - InsaneProgramming
http://www.insaneprogramming.be/blog/2014/12/01/mongodb-java-comparison
Ramblings of a Java developer and OSS fanatic. A Simple Use-case Comparison of JVM Libraries for MongoDB. The 4 approaches I’ll compare are using the standard MongoDB Java Driver, Jongo, Morphia and finally Spring Data for MongoDB. All the code is written in Groovy for brevity and I’ll be using Spring Boot to minimize boilerplate code to provide the REST layer. The Spring Boot app is as simple as it can be:. Orgspringframework.boot.autoconfigure.EnableAutoConfiguration. The MongoDB Java Driver. Aside fro...
Using GeoJSON with Spring Data for MongoDB and Spring Boot - InsaneProgramming

Ramblings of a Java developer and OSS fanatic. Using GeoJSON With Spring Data for MongoDB and Spring Boot. In my previous articles I compared 4 frameworks commonly used in communicating with MongoDB from the JVM and found out that in that use-case, Spring Data for MongoDB was the easiest solution. However I did make the remark that it doesn’t use the GeoJSON format to store geolocation coordinates and geometries. And import that in the Boot application. In that configuration you can override the. Orgspri...

Ramblings of a Java developer and OSS fanatic. The Java Conference Economy. Read on →. Using HA-JDBC With Spring Boot. I thought it would be nice to see whether I could add Spring Boot support which transparently enables HA-JDBC support. And thanks to the simplicity of Spring Boot, it wasn’t that hard. Read on →. Those who are familiar with databases and persistence have probably had the same discussion like I have had a couple of times over the last couple of years:. Read on →. Read on →. In my previous...

I N S A N E P R O J E C T S | Inventions, crazy ideas and challenges
Inventions, crazy ideas and challenges. Swedish geocaching record 2009. We finally after 22 hours and 30 minutes broke the old record of 178. Here is the 179 th geocache box. We also managed to-do some more, but after so many hours we were very tired. The final count landed on 181 geocaches in 24 hours. Here is our log file from Colorado 300 geocache visits. The file records are in UTC format so add 2h to the timestamps to get the Swedish local time 🙂. A great geocache in Malmoe.
