The (In)Scrutable Observer

Thoughts of a Reformed Christian guy who has one foot in the world of high tech and the other in the world of the past. Saturday, August 19, 2006. Remember how life was so simple not so long ago? I mean, life before you got on the Internet. Perhaps you had a PC, but it just stood there all alone without any connection to the outside world. Once the Internet started to become popular, you hopped right on the bandwagon. Why not? And now, a word from our sponsor. Do you suffer from anxiety or nerves? Sorry ...

The (In)Scrutable Observer: The casual generation: it's time for a change!

http://inscrutableobserver.blogspot.com/2005/06/casual-generation-its-time-for-change.html

Thoughts of a Reformed Christian guy who has one foot in the world of high tech and the other in the world of the past. Wednesday, June 08, 2005. The casual generation: it's time for a change! Well, here we are in the early twenty-first century, and I must say that my generation's small rebellion has been a tremendous success. People hardly dress up for anything any more. I've even seen people wear blue jeans or shorts to weddings and funerals! Today's philosophy seems to be "All casual, all the time!

Thoughts of a Reformed Christian guy who has one foot in the world of high tech and the other in the world of the past. Friday, May 26, 2006. Cast thy burden upon the Lord". An encouraging word from the Prince of Preachers that arrived in my inbox this morning. I hope you'll find it to be profitable. Dave. Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee. - Psalm 55:22. Posted by theinscrutableone @ 10:34 AM. Belvidere, Illinois, United States. View my complete profile. Duty, R.I.P.

The (In)Scrutable Observer: March 2005

Thoughts of a Reformed Christian guy who has one foot in the world of high tech and the other in the world of the past. Friday, March 25, 2005. A matter of trust. For that matter, how did she know that I was on the level? It would have taken a miracle to establish any kind of trust, so since the miracle never came, every one of my contacts eventually fizzled and died. What's a Christian single to do when there's no suitable singles in his church? Attend a singles' conference? Now, since Sally and I aren'...

Thoughts of a Reformed Christian guy who has one foot in the world of high tech and the other in the world of the past. Wednesday, January 25, 2006. Duty, R.I.P. Convenience is indeed king. No wonder then that Duty lies a-moldering in its grave, forsaken and forgotten, along with so many of God's commandments that are difficult or just plain Inconvenient to obey. The (In)Scrutable Observer: Writer's block

Thoughts of a Reformed Christian guy who has one foot in the world of high tech and the other in the world of the past. Saturday, July 01, 2006. I say all this in order that I might solicit your prayers that the Lord (if He so wills) would raise up a mentor for me and/or help me improve my writing on my own, and to let you know that my posts will likely be sporadic until I come up with an approach to improve my skills. A View from the Right on Networks, Theology, Politics, and any other Cotton-Pickin' Thing I Want! Saturday, November 12, 2005. I have a few moments, a precious few, in which to post an entry. I am trying to hold a conversation with prolific writers when I don't have two seconds of "alone" time in which to do so. I'm not complaining, that's just the way it is. Answered my previous post here,. And is continuing to do so. Good on him. It's good reading. I'm just a guy from Texas. Don't believe me? Because i...

A View from the Right on Networks, Theology, Politics, and any other Cotton-Pickin' Thing I Want! Tuesday, November 22, 2005. My Oh My . It's been a wild few days. Blogging had to take a back seat to other activities for a bit. I've barely even had time to read my favs, much less make an entry. Last week, I was reading about cessationism and reformationism. I started with Pyromaniac. Posted by R&B at 3:12 PM. Monday, November 14, 2005. Cessationism, once again. Oh, good grief! I attend an inter-denominat...

Multifaceted musings, sometimes of questionable value, from the mind of a young art historian and candidate for ordination in the Church of England. Saturday, July 11, 2015. Above the Stars My Saviour Dwells. Thomas] Tomkins' career exemplifies the maintenance of the great tradition of English church music throughout the early Stuart period, without any remarkable innovations: it is complex, accomplished, wonderfully responsive to the words of the Book of Common Prayer.' - - Graham Parry.
