Some days there’s just nothing left, on the weekend I ran my 30 km well 28km I just couldn’t finish the last 2km. I have been fighting a cold and thought that maybe a long run would scare it off but no luck. It was beautiful weather on Saturday blue sky 20 degrees and peaceful out in the kananaskis. The run got off to a great start, my body felt great my pace was good and about 26km I thought I would finish in just over 3 hours. what went wrong? I was angry at myself for getting so close and not finishing.

Laquo; Marathon countdown is offically on. Wow 2 more days till the Alaska trip. I can’t believe it’s come so fast! Training has really slowed down I have been working lots on my core and form for the run. Last week I strained my hip flexor and once they flare up it’s hard to kick it. After months of training, countless miles, worn out runners and a few aches and pains you cross that finish line and it all seems worth it. Race day was overcast with a light drizzle it was perfect weather for a run. The day had come, the one you think about every time you head out for a training run. WOOHOO I did it! This is a quick,easy and healthy nut free snack. 1/2 cup chopped figs. 1 cup mixed seeds and dried fruit ( I buy the seed and cranberry trail mix in bulk at safeway or nutters). 2 cups rolled oats (not quick cooking). 1 tbsp orange juice. 1 1/2 tbsp Honey.
