Stories from my Peace Corps service in Azerbaijan
Retired & Inspired: August 2011
http://inspiredtoretire.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Stories from my Peace Corps service in Azerbaijan. Wednesday, August 24, 2011. Yesterday was so fine that site mate Sally and I went to the bazar twice! All this happened before 1pm. Finally with one source for cooking, I was able to make a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch, but that was the last of my bread. I also finished making the blackberry jam, but ran out of small jars and had to fill a one liter jar instead. I spent a lot of time washing dishes and wiping up where I spilled. It simply could be t...

http://inspiredtoretire.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Stories from my Peace Corps service in Azerbaijan. Tuesday, September 27, 2011. Erase any questions about climate change. It is not yet the end of September and the weather in this warm climate is cold and rainy. In fact last night I resorted to wearing my flannel pajamas for the first time this Fall, and I also plugged in the electric heater in my bedroom. I'm managing just fine. Another time, I'll write about my afternoon and evening routine. Friday, September 16, 2011. A Saturday in September. I'm not...
Retired & Inspired: June 2012
http://inspiredtoretire.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Stories from my Peace Corps service in Azerbaijan. Sunday, June 17, 2012. Time flew during summer activity week! I took a week long break after the last day of school, and tried to sleep in for a few days. But the dogs, ducks and chickens next door don't have the sense God gave geese. They would join in the call to prayer at 4:30AM with howling, quacking and crowing. So I'd get up too, make coffee and read the news on the internet. Elaine also made sure the cow and calf in my yard had water. I'm an ordin...

Retired & Inspired: October 2011
http://inspiredtoretire.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Stories from my Peace Corps service in Azerbaijan. Saturday, October 22, 2011. I used to think I was pretty efficient - checking off a list of things I would do in a single day. But life here moves at a different pace and sometimes I'm satisfied just to get through the day and feel somewhat prepared for the next. Precisely describes washing clothes by hand. For preparing food, I have a propane tank for cooking plus a small one-temperature oven. That gas burner gets a workout as I use it to heat water...

Monday, March 10, 2008. Easygoing, fun, sense of humour (dry and sarcastic my personal favorites), honest, loyal, sincere, passionate, neurotic at times. ;-D. Appreciating the beauty in the simplicity is where I've landed at this point in my life; quality time spent in great company, a cold beer on a warm terrace, indulging in good food, expression through dancing, the sensuality of fragrances, walking in soft rain, regularly connecting with my inner child. Pictures please, ages between 28ish and 35ish.
