The mountains have always been a fascination to man due to their breathtaking heights, freshwater source and good defence possibilities. This collection shows a few of the structures I noticed while hiking in the mountains. May I even venture to say that some of the gigantic dams are as overwhelming as the mountains around them? Switzerland, Col de la Gueulaz. House on the Swiss frontier. Broken dam in clear blue stream. Bridge in the valley. Arch bridge over a deep gorge. A pipe can also be a footbridge.
