http://gloriabennett.blogspot.com/2011/04/seniors-in-social-activism.html
Tuesday, April 19, 2011. Seniors in) Social Activism - Informational and Collaborative Session. I didn't really know what I was getting myself into. I shuffled in my seat awkwardly. The young woman smirked at me. Is this something you guys would be interested in doing? Well, as far as resources go, we have money." a man said. Then maybe we could sponsor a low-income family! I don't want to donate anything! An angry woman cried out. "I donate to the blind, I give my clothes to the Salvation Army! He went ...

Adventures, Reflections and Less than Glamourous Moments in Already / Not Yet: Serve Anyway
http://gloriabennett.blogspot.com/2011/04/serve-anyway.html
Friday, April 8, 2011. By Dr Kent M. Keith. 1 People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered. 2 If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives. 3 If you are successful, you win false friends and true enemies. 4 The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow. 5 Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable. Be honest and frank anyway. 6 The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds. May 14, 2011 at 7:27 PM.

The musings of a smythlette. Run Like the Daleks Are After You: Cheering the Half-marathoners On. You know you are a nerd when…. Each year, on the first Sunday in May, the BMO half and full marathon takes place in Vancouver. My friend Mark. Was running it and so the night before I picked up poster paper and created a Mark-specific cheer poster. As both Mark and I are fond of Dr. Who, I made a poster that read, “Run like the Daleks are after you” to cheer him on. That did the trick. Vale Vine A Canadian-B...

Adventures, Reflections and Less than Glamourous Moments in Already / Not Yet: A Reflection
http://gloriabennett.blogspot.com/2010/12/reflection.html
Sunday, December 5, 2010. I haven't written on this thing in awhile. I think its time I just plugged down and vomitted some thoughts, regardless of how unorganized they may be inside my head. If you are unaware, I am a founding member of an experimental community house which officially started this September. Currently, there are five women and two men in this house. What are our weaknesses? What is tolerable and what needs to change as soon as possible? December 6, 2010 at 9:42 AM. Hey Gloria - I admire...

Adventures, Reflections and Less than Glamourous Moments in Already / Not Yet: I'm Bored.
http://gloriabennett.blogspot.com/2011/03/im-bored.html
Wednesday, March 2, 2011. A few times a week it is only me and my boss in the kitchen for roughly half an hour. A couple months ago I attempted to tell him about the community house but really butchered it and basically made it sound like I was part of a cult. I've been attempting to redeem that image of us for him ever since. But I feel like except for the once in a while encounters at SHOW, my life is sorely lacking that kind of adventure. I don't want to live a safe and protected life! Harry says this...

The musings of a smythlette: Hello Summer. Why Don't You Stay Awhile?
http://smythlette.blogspot.com/2015/05/hello-summer-why-dont-you-stay-awhile.html
The musings of a smythlette. Hello Summer. Why Don't You Stay Awhile? When summer comes, the stockings go. These four look like they are having a grand time. It looks like this boy is at camp. Note the tents in the background. Summer is the time for camp. When I was looking closely at this photograph, I realized that the girl on the far right appears to have a prosthetic limb.
