My oncologist visit today was the culmination of a round of doctor visits over the past month: mammogram, pap smear, dermatologist, surgeon, CT scan, and finally blood work. The Intensive Interferon Experience. Working to beat the melanoma beast! Friday, May 30, 2008. I'll call it halfway! It was nice enough outside that I just sacked out on the patio after treatment and enjoyed the sounds and smells of nature. I even swept a little after my hubby edged the pool bed. It's amazing how much effort it takes to get up and move. I'm hoping to plant a few more flowers this weekend and pull a few more weeds (after eating my PB toast, of course). 9 down, 10 to go. 8 down, 11 to go.

This month's 6-month checkup signified a 2-year milestone since treatment ended and remission started. This morning I got the all-clear from my oncologist. She said that the chances of recurrence decrease each year I'm cancer-free. I still have to go back in 6 months for a checkup, but I won't need a CAT scan unless my blood work warrants one. Yay!
