Assignment for Minnesota's "23 things on a stick"
Intermittent Librarian: February 2008
http://intermittentlibrarian.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
Assignment for Minnesota's "23 things on a stick". Tuesday, February 26, 2008. Fast and easy process, if it weren't for doing this at the reference desk! Being so intermittent about all things librarian-ish, I'll probably be intermittent at being a blogger, too. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.
Intermittent Librarian: Thing 5: more fun with flickr
http://intermittentlibrarian.blogspot.com/2008/12/thing-5-more-fun-with-flickr.html
Assignment for Minnesota's "23 things on a stick". Sunday, December 28, 2008. Thing 5: more fun with flickr. Let's just call this too much fun with flickr. I tried the spelling mashup. It is fun, but I don't see much application in my professional life. And I can't get it to post to the blog. Since I'm crushed for time, I'll move on to Thing 6. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Thing 5: more fun with flickr. Thing 2: Library 2.0. View my complete profile.

Assignment for Minnesota's "23 things on a stick". Tuesday, October 21, 2008. Getting back to the blog. Perhaps I should have entitled this the "Intermittent Blogger." Just getting back to the 23 Things after a long hiatus - my work time has been spent doing lots of librarian tasks. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Getting back to the blog. View my complete profile.
Intermittent Librarian: Thing 1 -- blog
http://intermittentlibrarian.blogspot.com/2008/11/thing-1-blog.html
Assignment for Minnesota's "23 things on a stick". Sunday, November 30, 2008. Thing 1 - blog. It is finally finished (it only took 9 months from start to finish)! It isn't hard to do and could be accomplished really fast with uninterrupted time. One could spend way too much time deciding on choices for an avatar. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Thing 1 - blog. View my complete profile.

While I love sharing photos of my kids, I don't think I'd want them out on Flickr as public and available for anyone to see, blog, whatever. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

23, Stick, Etc.: May 2008
http://23sticketc.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
23, Stick, Etc. Sunday, May 18, 2008. Thing 8 - Sharing your Whatevers. I have to say, the Picture Trail/Flicks things with moving pictures, kind of reminds me of the early days of the Internet, when blinking and scrolling text was all the rage. (Hey, you kids, get off my lawn! This is my ball now! Thing 7 - Email and Whatnot. After a hiatus of about a month and a half, during which time I set up a staff reading and readers advisory blog. OMG, what is with the music on that video? Oh, patrons don't count.
23, Stick, Etc.: Thing 23 - Victory Lap! To the Theme from Rocky!

23, Stick, Etc. Tuesday, September 9, 2008. Thing 23 - Victory Lap! To the Theme from Rocky! Now that the end is in sight, I'm feeling a little . . . Nostalgic? It's hard to say. Also, I felt like the RSS thing came too early in the process . . . that I may have gotten more out of it farther down the road. And I will revisit that, since I don't think I have the understanding of it, or that I've used it as productively as I could have. And now you are a facebook junkie! Congrats on your 23 Things Journey.

23, Stick, Etc. Wednesday, July 23, 2008. Thing 18 - Skipping Ahead a Bit. I'm sorry, but I am LOVING You Tube. Right now. I just got back from NYC, completely enraptured by my new favorite Broadway musical - In the Heights. Which brings me to You Tube. The creator of In The Heights, the adorable and talented Lin-Manuel Miranda, has created and posted. Videos of when they signed and performed at the Virgin Megastore. In NYC, and scenes from when they performed at Broadway in Bryant Park. What I love so m...

http://23sticketc.blogspot.com/2008/09/thing-22-current.html
23, Stick, Etc. Tuesday, September 9, 2008. Thing 22 - The Current. My journey through the wondrous land of Web and Library 2.0 is nearly to an end. I passed through the seven levels of the Candy Cane forest, through the sea of swirly twirly gum drops, and then I walked through the Lincoln Tunnel. No, wait. That was actually Buddy the Elf. I hereby solemnly swear to do the following:. Keep up with my professional growth and do my best to keep up with the new technology. And maybe this blog. Thing 16 - I ...

I know I'm supposed to make a trading card or something, but isn't this way more fun? Thanks to the person who posted Generator Blog. In the comments under Thing 6. I made a screed too, but can't figure out how to post it, which is all probably for the best. This should really be a screed-free day. FOR ONCE. Thing 5 - More Fun. Thing 4 - Continued. 23, Stick, Etc. Tuesday, September 2, 2008. Thing 17 - ELM Productivity. Yikes This one has a LOT of steps, and a LOT of corrections, and a LOT of comments. But I have the end in my sights, and I'm going to just plow through as best as possible. Go me! Okay, so I did a search as requested in Infotrac Student Edition, and read through the new and revised instructions to setting up a RSS feed for my search, which was for the Broadway show In the Heights. Right now, their formatting is so wack that there's ...
23, Stick, Etc.: Thing 18 - You Tubery

23, Stick, Etc. Tuesday, September 2, 2008. Thing 18 - You Tubery. Can I just say: Could I start MORE sentences with 'So,'? I'm an absolute stream-of-consciousness writer in this kind of setting, and in any kind of writing, I always need to do a lot of editing to take out all my beloved qualifiers like, 'just' and 'I guess' and 'a little'. It's a gift! But I guess I don't need to worry too much about that right now, when I'm just writing for my own edification. I ALREADY DID IT. And check them out!
23, Stick, Etc.: Thing 15 - Games People Play

23, Stick, Etc. Tuesday, September 2, 2008. Thing 15 - Games People Play. So I watched the Second Life video. Sans sound, cause although I was not at the desk (for once, praise all appropriate deities! I was apparently on a computer with no sound. I did do a little snooping around the web to learn more about Second Life and libraries. It's the eternal questions, though, for me: Who has the time? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). http://23sticketc.blogspot.com/2008/09/thing-20-facebook-continued.html
23, Stick, Etc. Monday, September 8, 2008. Thing 20 - Facebook continued. OMG, now I'm obsessed. I'm acquiring friends, getting flair, people are writing on my wall, and getting about a million messages in my email letting me know all this and more. I spent HOURS on it last night at home, and part of the reason was I added the Visual Bookshelf. Application to my profile. I totally took to that in a way that I never really did with LibraryThing. It's Guatemala). So cool! Does However, they only have 10 po...

23, Stick, Etc. Tuesday, September 2, 2008. Thing 16 - I Don't Feel Tardy. So even the grumpiest of grumpy 23 thingers can't find anything objectionable about the tools mentioned in Thing 16. The University of Minnesota assignment calculator. The Research Project Calculator. Was another great site, with good links and a comprehensive schedule for a few different project options, including slide presentations (don't they mean Powerpoint? an intermittent gourmet ~ real food, real life
An intermittent gourmet real food, real life. Soups, Salads & Sides. Condiments, Marinades & etc. These little sandwich cookies were always my favorite thing about Easter. Bella found the cookie cutters in spring shapes – aren’t they just the cutest? The cookies are quite delicate, so make sure they’re completely cool before frosting.I used a basic butter frosting. Divide into four bowls and color in pastels. 1 c butter, softened. 1/3 c whipping cream. Heat oven to 375 . Fall Flavor: Maple and Caramelize...

A lawyer's attempts to be outdoorsy. October 22, 2012. Despite the fact that I have had a road bike for two years and am a consistent runner, I have never given in to the triathlon trend…until now. This spring my sister was convinced to register for a triathlon, and, in turn, she persuaded me to do the same. Luckily, a few years ago I …. Read more ». October 22, 2012. Reunion 2012 – Part 2. Life as I Intermittently Know It | Observations from a Single Dad
Life as I Intermittently Know It. Observations from a Single Dad. Friday, 13 March 2015. About a week ago, I attended the Bing Listens tour event in Los Angeles. The food was great, the interaction with my fellow Bing Fans was fun, but the real highlight was participating in what Bing was asking us to do: give them feedback. And give it to them we did. What did we talk about? And then we saw the features. The new killer apps. All I’m saying is “WOW! Bing It for the Kids. Wednesday, 7 January 2015. Intern...

Intermittently Rational
Madness, Matriculation and Much Else. As you'll have seen from the previous post, I've more or less shut up shop here at Intermittently Rational. Fortunately (and completely unexpectedly), the mental health stuff isn't such a day to day problem for me anymore and as a result I have a significantly reduced urge to blog primarily about it - it no longer fits. However, I like having a blog, so I decided to set up a new one. Now, more than a month later, I've finally actually done it! Links to this post.
