Wednesday, June 4, 2008. Day 11 Project 2.1 Mindful Play : Play in Mind. Today Project 2.1 was introduced. Students were asked to design and construct an instrument of play and learning that engages the subject of rain. Driving concepts behind the assignment were the use of found materials and objects as well as the creation of an object that invites future evolution, or "unpredictable regenerations". Students were then given 36 hours to gather found materials and construct their toys. Stay Up To Date!

Sunday, June 15, 2008. Day 2o- 23 Goa. After presenting the team's work thus far to Devika. The American team members and a few brave D Y Patil students (given thesis crits fast approaching) took the train down to Goa to spend a few days on the beach, albeit under cloudy skies. Goa is quite a beautiful place. Many of our students rented scooters and explored the coastline and a number of students (and teachers) enjoyed playing in the waves. Learn more about Goa. Monday, June 9, 2008. Day 16 Project 2.2 Free Radicals. Today students presented individual proposals at D Y Patil. There was an exciting range of scale and even approach to the assignment. Proposals varied from concepts of ideal construction in an effort to improve the physical conditions of the creche to curricular programs designed to help give students living a perpetually nomadic existence some sense of self and individual identity.
