Interpretive Stance.: Little Boy
http://interpretivestance.blogspot.com/2015/03/little-boy.html
Monday, March 30, 2015. Somewhere along the line, my baby has become less of a smiley little bump on a log, and a full blown little person. Like seriously, where did my baby go? I've got a boy on my hands. It's so exciting and fun and also a little bittersweet because those sweet baby days are done, never to return. Because listening to your baby cry at bedtime is THE WORST, and while he is not left to "cry it out", even a couple of minutes of this makes my motherheart feel like it might break. He claps&...
Interpretive Stance.: 6 Months Young!
http://interpretivestance.blogspot.com/2014/12/6-months-young.html
Tuesday, December 16, 2014. Silas turned 6 months old last Tuesday! How terrible of me to be so delayed in this post! Actually, scratch that. I was busy being a mom. Doing mom things. Andlife with a 6 month old is much busier than life with a newborn! Our loose daily schedule looks a little something like this. 7 / 7:30 am - nurse either in bed (if night has been tiring) or in living room. 8 am - oatmeal or rice cereal with fruit puree. 8:30 am - play with toys. 9 am - nap (anywhere from 30 to 90 mins).
Interpretive Stance.: Meat Free Mondays!
http://interpretivestance.blogspot.com/2011/11/meat-free-mondays.html
Tuesday, November 01, 2011. The last couple of months, I have been partaking in Meat Free Monday. The basic principle of the movement is that if we all have one less meat based meal per week, we can play a large part in helping reduce harmful global Co2 emissions. Interpretive Stance.: One Week In
http://interpretivestance.blogspot.com/2015/01/one-week-in.html
Saturday, January 24, 2015. We have been here a week now, and we are feeling pretty relaxed! We have had fresh bakes brownies delivered to our door by Lisa (BEST. BROWNIES. EVER. OMG), invites to dinner (fresh blue fin tuna, dorado, homemade ice creak sandwiches), and last night we watched Dave play guitar at Casa del Pintor, where I ate the most delectable Chile Rellenos. I am in love with our routine .James surfs in the early am, Silas and I check out the sunrise and beach, play and then he naps (l...
Interpretive Stance.: The Sleeping Games
http://interpretivestance.blogspot.com/2015/01/the-sleeping-games.html
Tuesday, January 06, 2015. As I praised the Gods of sleep and got my hopes up that the days of short stretches of sleep were a thing of the past suckaaaaaas! I realized YET AGAIN that babies are completely unpredictable and you can literally only count on one thing - that whatever it is that they are doing today, will likely change completely by tomorrow. I'm such an amateur for even daring to hope. It IS all over the place. So what's up this round of the Sleeping Games? Is it another growth spurt? I *th...

Lovely Lydia Design: Test Drive
http://lovelylydiadesign.blogspot.com/2011/03/test-drive.html
Friday, March 4, 2011. Plan for the weekend. Test drive the new Ford Edge. It's a divided feeling of excitement (because I've never had the opportunity to test drive a vehicle) and anxiety because the people that work at dealerships are.scary to say the least. Well, I hope you all have a great weekend. VROOM-VROOM! Posted by Erik Johnson. March 4, 2011 at 7:45 PM. Is there a new car in your future? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Audrey Needs More Wooden Spoons: Perfect weekday lunch: Chickpea Goji Berry Salad
http://paigeout.blogspot.com/2011/03/perfect-weekday-lunch-chickpea-goji.html
Sunday, March 06, 2011. Perfect weekday lunch: Chickpea Goji Berry Salad. It's Alive magazine's suggestion to make this salad on a lazy Sunday afternoon and bring to work for weekday lunches. A hearty salad of chickpeas, mandarin oranges, almonds, goji berries and feta cheese. I like practical tips like this - easy to follow and makes perfect sense. With the advice appealing to my sensibilities and the recipe appealing to my tastes, I fell for this salad hook, line and sinker. As healthy as this superfood.

Saturday, August 13, 2011. Your Guide to Feast of Fields. Vancouver Island's Feast of Fields will be upon us in less than six weeks and it's shaping up to be another good one. Another exceptional one. This is my favorite food event of the year because it always takes place on a beautiful, scenic farm, with local food and drink of every variety and with people who goes are all passionate about the same thing, namely food. Here are the details:. With their fresh fruit popsicles and ice cream bars. Now unti...
Dan With a Twist: Letting Go of Perfect.
http://www.danwithatwist.com/2014/10/letting-go-of-perfect.html
Dan With a Twist. Life is better with a little Lemon. Saturday, October 18, 2014. Letting Go of Perfect. My name is Danielle, and I'm a perfectionist. I feel like for those who know me well, this statement is not a surprise. It is a surprise to me. I dislike enough things about myself to believe that everyone reading this will scoff, "You're clearly not a perfectionist - look. But lately, I have started to ask myself, what is the end goal of my being perfect? Where am I killing myself to get to? I'm not ...

Audrey Needs More Wooden Spoons: Polenta Squares with Tomato Sauce
http://paigeout.blogspot.com/2010/08/polenta-squares-with-tomato-sauce.html
Saturday, August 21, 2010. Polenta Squares with Tomato Sauce. I like polenta best cut into squares, grilled and served with generous amounts of tomato sauce, Parmesan cheese and vegetables like sauteed mushrooms, asparagus or steamed kale. When making the tomato sauce, always use fresh tomatoes or good quality canned tomatoes. My favorite is Italissima canned tomatoes. Which are reasonably priced and can be found in Italian markets or most grocery stores. Squares with Tomato Sauce. 1 1/2 cups water.
Audrey Needs More Wooden Spoons: Beet and Fennel Soup with Kefir
http://paigeout.blogspot.com/2011/09/beet-and-fennel-soup-with-kefir.html
Sunday, September 18, 2011. Beet and Fennel Soup with Kefir. With the turn in the weather over the past few weeks, I've starting thinking about some of my favorite comfort meals - soups, chili, stews - pretty much anything warm and different than salads. This beet and fennel soup recipe comes by way of my friend Nicola, who discovered a taste for fennel seeds after trying my roasted cream of tomato soup. Beet and Fennel Soup with Kefir. 1 yellow onion, chopped. Unflavored kefir (add more to taste). Add c...
Audrey Needs More Wooden Spoons: Salads
http://paigeout.blogspot.com/p/salads.html
Bacon Chipotle Potato Salad. This recipe for potato salad is the best. The best! And the reason is the addition of crispy back bacon and pureed chipotle peppers. Bulgar Salad with Kale, Salami and Olives. A great side dish to make for dinner or enjoy it on its own for lunch. Tastes good served warm or cold. Chickpea Goji Berry Salad. A deliciously hearty salad of chickpeas, mandarin oranges, almonds, goji berries and feta cheese. Cucumber and Sunflower Sprout Salad. Green Bean Salad with Almonds. With a ...
Audrey Needs More Wooden Spoons: Appetizers
http://paigeout.blogspot.com/p/appetizers.html
This spread is a Middle Eastern dish of roasted and charred eggplant that's pureed with garlic, lemon juice, tahini, olive oil, salt and pepper. It has a creamy, smoky flavour of rich eggplant. Something this good needs to be shared with a group of people like as an appetizer at a cocktail or dinner party with veggies and pita bread. This is one of my favorites for when I'm looking for an appetizer that tastes great, looks good and is easy to make. Guacamole and Tortilla Chips. Goat Cheese Mushroom Caps.

Interpretive Stance.
Wednesday, May 27, 2015. Silas at 11.5 Months! It's 7:45 pm and I have gotten our little maniac to bed, so I can sit down, have a cup of tea, pay some bills online, and suddenly recall that I have a long neglected blog I should update. Because you do. Things start to fade a little. When I look back over my pictures, sometimes I'm like "NO WAY WAS HE EVER THAT SMALL!
