My first response was from Alison Carmichael, she explained to me that she really appreciated the fact that I was inspired by her work and had taken an interest to it and explained that she gets a lot of emails of students asking her similar questions so she gave me a set Q&A for me to have a read through and some of the stuff is really handy. Monday, 26 April 2010. I found these illustrations in the book 1000 Garment Graphics, as I am thinking of doing a final brief concentrating around design for t shirts. These illustrations are beautiful and really to my taste! This example below is quite cool, illustration but experimenting with different textures, I could maybe bring this technique in to my work. Experimental type and image combined. Using design for bottle packaging, simple but yet effective design and easily recognisable to Paul Smtih.

Wednesday, 19 May 2010. I came across GrandPeople in Eye Magazine, I think there work is absolutely amazing, I think I may even be tempted to add there work into my design context book. Below: I love this piece of work in particular, the contrast between photography colour and black and white illustration combines perfectly. There is a strong focus on image and type used within there work. Logo design-very detailed and illustrative. I could see my logo looking something like this. Back to home page.

Monday, 10 May 2010. I have contacted Stylist magazine to ask them about the paper stocks that they use for their free magazine hand outs. I really like the stock used and this would be perfect for my design context book. I was looking through the magazine and there are certain layouts within it that could work quite well with how I want to display my chapter that is called 'The world of type and image'. Monday, 22 March 2010. Design context for easter sunday flyer and poster. Below are a couple of album covers for Rock n Roll music. Monday, 15 March 2010. Experimental type with and as image. Bikini Kill existing imagery. All these images that i have picked out are all of a very simliar theme and asthetic, mainly all in black and white with very limited use of colour.
