What have I gotten myself into?? – wonderjess

Where I do it all. What have I gotten myself into? Run Rabbit Run image from http:/ www.ragingbunnies.net/. I’m training for my first 50 miler. Sometimes, when I think about what I’ve signed up for, I question my sanity. I mean 50 miles. 5 – 0 miles! My goal is to come in around 12 hours. Which is still a stretch. Okay, over the initial craziness. How the hell do I make this happen? Some background if you don’t know me. How did I get to the point where I decided 50 miles was a good idea? In Colorado: som...

Yitka Winn: Is ultrarunning—or any other great passion in life—sustainable?
http://proximitytowater.blogspot.com/2014/09/is-ultrarunningor-any-other-great.html
Tuesday, September 9, 2014. Is ultrarunning—or any other great passion in life—sustainable? Scenes from running Colorado's infamous Four Pass Loop last Sunday. Frost up on the trails near Aspen early in the morning on Sunday. I admit I’ve been dreading the end of summer. Don’t get me wrong; I adore fall—if only it weren’t followed by Old Man Winter. As previously mentioned. 8217; which covers the 2004 Bear race. Thanks to the fairly comprehensive resource, ultrasignup.com. 8212;as proof that ultrarunning...

Cleaning My Plate – I Run in the Rain

I Run in the Rain. Just Random Stuff About Me. Things I Learned While Marathon Training. July 28, 2015. July 28, 2015. I feel guilty even writing this because my life events are minor compared to others’. Things I am going through seem trivial at the least. But some recent events and concerns are causing me to inventory the things I am trying to juggle and I think it’s time to take things off my plate. In addition to that, I am training for the Chicago marathon in high humidity and temperatures. Being wi...

Long Haul 100 Race Report – distance ahead
https://distanceahead.wordpress.com/2016/02/21/long-haul-100-race-report
Long Haul 100 Race Report. Just when you think you have a routine down, life has a way of surprising you. The processes and plans that seem so established can easily just vanish, leaving you in unfamiliar territory. At Long Haul I learned about a new issue, one that I did not have a solution for: My brain wasn’t working right. It did not want to be happy. It did not want to enjoy the race. My brain was just poison, and I still can’t really explain why. That’s the only wa...I had chosen Long Haul for two ...

A trail running guy. A journey into running trails and ultra marathons. Who is this guy? Some things I’ve learned along the way. Recently a friend who is going to be running in her first 100k race the Gorge Waterfalls 100k. Racing in the S.O.B. 50 miler in 2015. Be consistent in your training. Putting in consistent mileage, time on your feet, week in and week out helps prepare your body for the pounding it will take on race day. High humidity or relatively dry? My son helping finish. My family suppor...

Pour Me Some Whine. So you think you know Molly? The difference between sarcasm and sleaze. It’s time to stop caring →. July 15, 2015 · 4:19 pm. For the love of dog …. And these dogs weren’t just. Dogs – they were big dogs. Always. Growing up we mostly had German shepherds or German shepherd mixes, and then when I got married we had Labs, Lab mixes and Newfoundlands. This morning Mia and I had one of those stories of our own. I had a Lab mix at the time, but we made it work. We had to. About that time tr...

Pour Me Some Whine. So you think you know Molly? June 21, 2015 · 3:16 am. The difference between sarcasm and sleaze. I had a particularly, oh, let’s call it awful date recently, mostly because the man involved opened his mouth and spoke. He was fairly decent looking, educated, owned his own business. We apparently knew some of the same people. But when he spoke, it was awful. He was lewd and crass and just plain disrespectful. For the first time ever, I ended a date early. 8220;Wait … did he. 8220;That&#...

Pumpkin Holler Report – Finishing the Race – distance ahead
https://distanceahead.wordpress.com/2016/11/16/pumpkin-holler-report-finishing-the-race
Pumpkin Holler Report – Finishing the Race. 8220;I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7 NIV. One hundred and thirty five miles. Thats a really long way. And thats the best way I can describe it without using expletives. But I did it. With all sorts of help, with decimated legs, with about half of a functioning brain, with no time to spare, through the grace of God. I hate the grind. I love the grind. Why I wanted to run 135 miles in the first place.

Pour Me Some Whine. So you think you know Molly? June 18, 2015 · 3:31 pm. Why didn’t I think of this? A few weeks ago, one of my best friends and fellow wine lovers (she was an admirer long before me – I’m still in the “getting to know you” phase of my wine relationship) introduced me to this guy. What I should be doing. I’m incredibly jealous of his job. Why didn’t I think about this? Of being on camera – including webcam. And the fact that I just didn’t think about it. A little history …. Did we just b...

Pour Me Some Whine. So you think you know Molly? Tag Archives: Molly Rossiter. May 20, 2016 · 5:18 pm. The Year of Me. Wow That sounds kind of narcissi. Stic, now that I see it in front of me. “The Year of Me.” Who does that? Well, I do. Or I will, soon. It’s not what you think – I’m not going to go all self-absorbed on the world, caring only about MY wants and MY needs and MY chocolate. This is something different. That was amazing. That’s what dreams were made of. Not in the least. It’s beautiful...
