ADVENTURES IN HOMESCHOOLING BOYS
In the home and by the way...: February 2014
http://inthehomeandbytheway.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
In the home and by the way. ADVENTURES IN HOMESCHOOLING BOYS. Wednesday, February 12, 2014. Abishai really enjoyed rowing Warm as Wool. By Scott Russell Sanders. He's asked to have it read to him everyday for the last two weeks. I'm not sure why he liked it so much. I guess I should have asked him, but I liked it too, and didn't mind reading it over and over. Based on a true story, Warm as Wool. This book, The Prairie Fire. Another book showing a fireguard being made. Also from The New Land. We talked ab...

In the home and by the way. ADVENTURES IN HOMESCHOOLING BOYS. Thursday, May 30, 2013. Since Tom cats like to roam around at dark, t. Here were a few night scenes. The boys tried making their own by drawing backlit windows, to show the effect of light coming from a building at night. Abishai's scene of night-time Venice, with luminescent building and a canal gondola. Since the cat's name was Papa Piccolo, I found a Piccolo concerto for the boys to watch. A book about cats in Italy. Links to this post.

In the home and by the way. ADVENTURES IN HOMESCHOOLING BOYS. Thursday, October 9, 2014. I haven't been around for the summer and part of the fall. I sort of just disappeared for the last few months. I took a break from blogging during this time, but I do plan to continue documenting our homeschooling journey here at In the Home and By the Way. Starting a church from the ground up takes a lot of time and energy, but let me tell you, it's been electric! Abishai's Grade 2 picture! 1st day of school pictures.

In the home and by the way. ADVENTURES IN HOMESCHOOLING BOYS. Wednesday, April 24, 2013. Abishai asked me to record him reading. I video taped him sideways thinking that I would be able to rotate it later in iPhoto but the program didn't allow me to. If you just tilt your head sideways (or turn your computer) everything will right itself. Links to this post. Thursday, April 18, 2013. A Week of Poetry. I love the snowy pictures. So beautiful! The boys tried to make snowy tree branches of their own. Jesus,...

In the home and by the way. ADVENTURES IN HOMESCHOOLING BOYS. Thursday, June 27, 2013. A Year Complete of Home Schooling. I'm a bit behind in my posts and since school already ended for us last week, I decided to compile them all into one. So, here's our last bit of June. Madame Rachelle came over to do cooking with the boys. She just happened to come on Abishai's actual birthday so it ended up being a great birthday meal. It was delicious. Chicken, potatoes, peas and chocolate cake! Getting "judged" by ...

L, Em and N. Wednesday, June 16, 2010. Life during the reno. So our cabinets were installed at the end of April, and we have been waiting for our countertops since then. It is going on 7 weeks now. We decided to go with this guy because it was something different, he does concrete overlay and solid concrete. And so we decided on the overlay because you get the look of stone for the price of laminate. I'm not sure that was such a good idea any more. I know I've mentioned it before, but E is a climber.

L, Em and N. Sunday, August 16, 2009. Daddy watching over our fire roasted chicken and garlic bread. By far our most delicious meal. The boys slept really well in the camper. They would fall asleep immediately and then sleep in til 8am! I guess all the fresh air and activity helped. L being a goof as usual. This is near the beginning of the canyon. It was the height of the tourist season, and this is one of the most popular hikes in the area, so there were a lot of people there. Here's our little trailer...

L, Em and N. Monday, March 30, 2009. Saturday: The boys had a birthday party, and we went to their cousin's for supper and playing. I made a carrot cake for dessert, which I added a few embellishments too. Sunday: Church and then Oma and Opa came over for Brunch. From there the boys went to the Moose game and the girls went to the Orchid Show at the Conservatory. It sure felt like spring in there! Oma just couldn't resist buying Emma this cute little bunny bank there. What we've been up to. The boys and ...

And of course, because I have the best parents, they drop what they are doing, drive an hour and a half and come help us out! Here we are loading our broken trailer onto Dad's trailer. Atleast Dad got to stop at his favorite store. And of course there was lots of extra help. Part Two: Father's Day. Nathan celebrated his First Father's Day as a Father of Three. L, Em and N. Saturday, April 25, 2009. Luke's Fourth Birthday Party. A few pictures from the day. Luke had a great day with family and friends. Snorkel mask was a big hit! Emma got her first taste of solid food this week. Mashed banana! She loved it and could have finished the whole banana. Friday, April 17, 2009. We pos...

In the Home with Dad. A stay at home dad's adventures in child rearing and homemaking. Sunday, July 29, 2012. Some culinary goodies, and a garden update.
