Midweek Musings: April 2016
http://moonrisemusing.blogspot.com/2016_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, 30 April 2016. I was going to be predictable and do my 'Z' for zucchini, and was in a spring like, playful mood. It's the end of the challenge, let's celebrate, and pretend to have cake, and make it a party. Nice thing about this cake.no calories. I made cakes like these, not quite as challenging maybe, but that was years ago, when the grandkids were small. I made them cakes in all sorts of shapes and themes. Anyway, thanks to all who visited this site, I hope you come back. Links to this post.

Midweek Musings: January 2017

Wednesday, 25 January 2017. Hand Gestures and Their Meanings. I received this statue from my brother and his wife at Christmas, and my immediate thought was "I'm OK". I looked at it, and continue to look at it throughout the day and remind myself that I am in fact, doing OK, relatively speaking. Those of us who suffer from a chronic illness, have good days and bad, and that becomes our way of life. So, I was surprised to learn that my ceramic hand has a specific meaning in yoga language. The specific han...

Midweek Musings: Catch Phrases
http://moonrisemusing.blogspot.com/2016/12/catch-phrases.html
Thursday, 29 December 2016. Do you have a phrase that you say all the time? Something that people connect with you. I recognize that I have such a phrase, catch myself saying it and know I'm repetitive with it. The phrase is "AT ANY RATE". I seem to use it at the end of, or to end, a conversation or discussion. I realize I say it and have often wondered if others were aware of my repetitive use of it. Do they know and find it annoying? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Scattered Thoughts and Stumbles.

Midweek Musings: Lily...A Major Manipulator
http://moonrisemusing.blogspot.com/2016/12/lilya-major-manipulator.html
Monday, 19 December 2016. I was taking care of my daughter's dog this weekend while the family was off to Ottawa for a hockey tournament. Lily, the dog, and I are old friends, and she has been my guest a couple of times in the last few years. Having her in winter is not as problematic as summer, as she isn't as curious about the neighborhood, more in a mind to zip outside, do her business and rush back in the house. I tend to treat her well, with hugs, petting and, of course, doggie treats. Although ther...

Midweek Musings: January 2016
http://moonrisemusing.blogspot.com/2016_01_01_archive.html
Friday, 29 January 2016. I watch a fair bit of sports, mostly hockey, golf and tennis. My interest in golf was rekindled a few years ago when Tiger Woods played that tournament on his badly injured leg. As I suffer my own kind of pain, I was impressed with his courage, his determination. Even though he was gone from the scene for awhile, my interest remained. What happens if you have to sneeze, or blow your nose, or (not to be rude) scratch your ass? He’d just finished putting, had done a bit of be...

Midweek Musings: July 2016

Tuesday, 26 July 2016. Art, Learned at Home. There was always art in our house growing up. My mother was a gifted artist, mostly in oils in those younger years. Mom had a basement studio, and taught art lessons at home. I'm not sure when I started to draw, or paint, but I remember some of those earlier times, trying out oils. I guess it was when I went away to school, where there was no convenient art studio, that I realized how important art was to me. I play with other, what I guess are crafts, knittin...

Midweek Musings: March 2016
http://moonrisemusing.blogspot.com/2016_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 30 March 2016. Beep, Beep, Beep. I remember watching an old episode of NCIS. It was Halloween and someone was playing tricks on the agents. Dr Mallard repeatedly heard a beeping sound in his morgue, and it was driving him crazy that he couldn't find the source of the noise. I felt a little like that the other day. I was on my computer, and kept hearing a strange beep. I thought it was the TV. I had the hockey game on and figured it was something on their broadcast. He has the worst of the driv...

Midweek Musings: June 2016
http://moonrisemusing.blogspot.com/2016_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 29 June 2016. The Wimbledon Tennis Tournament started on Monday, the first of 14 days, in what is most likely the most prestigious tournament of all. Wimbledon is a British tradition, and no one does tradition better. There are the grass courts, and of course, the players all dressed in their tennis whites. It seems strange, at first, after watching players in their bright and often neon colors. No colored shoes, socks, the matching shirts and shorts and the coordinated head and wrist bands.
