Altacro is a VUB university project involving some of the partners of the MIRAD project consortium: the Mechanical Engineering Department and the Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy research group of VUB. Skip to main content. First MIRAD exoskeleton prototype tested in lab. The Mirad team delivered their first exoskeleton prototype for the assistance of sit-to-stand motion. The prototype has a total of six powered joints. At the hip, knee and ankle of each leg. The actuators have been sized such that an assistance level of 30%. Naturally allows deviations from the target position when external forces are applied by the user. Currently, the prototype is being evaluated in a gait analysis lab.
