A Life Worth Chasing. Guyanese Pumpkin & Roti Recipe. October 1, 2014. 1 small yellow onion. 2 wiri wiri peppers (scotch pepper). 1 tsp salt to start (add more to suit your taste). Dash of black pepper. Dash of any dried herbs you like. 1 sprig of thyme. 1/2 tsp curry powder. 1/2 tsp brown sugar. This recipe is just a foundation, you can add any additional seasonings you prefer. Chop pumpkin into large pieces and peel skin off. Cut each large piece of pumpkin into smaller 1/2 inch pieces. Set aside.

A Life Worth Chasing. Two Weeks In, Two Years to Go. May 13, 2014. The transition from Splashmin’s resort to Host Family placement was abrupt. We did not know who our host family would be up until the point we were standing in front of them one afternoon. The Peace Corps then turned us over to them, and off we went. All 34 of us going in separate directions, with total strangers that we have been paired with to spend the next 9 weeks. Intense. Desiree with our dinner. Doing Laundry by hand….
