Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Here is the link to my presentation. I produced this with OpenOffice and all the type formatting was lost when saved as a PowerPoint. So I saved as a PDF and it looks just as created. Monday, April 5, 2010. This course module has some great tips for professional looking labels and annotation. This is going to come in handy in the future. Feature weight and label weight will take some practice to be useful but otherwise the tools available are quite intuitive.

JL Applied GIS: February 2010

http://www.intro2gis.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

Monday, February 22, 2010. This Lab was well documented and the photos are good quality. The corner areas with no known data to reference seem to still be distorted otherwise the results are acceptable. I learned that when you update georeferencing you can get back to the control point table and refine further if needed but not if you rectify. Thursday, February 18, 2010. After Finding all the required data the biggest challenge was symbolizing the Hydrography layers without creating too much noise.

Amy Stoker's Applications in GIS Blog: Week 10

http://stokergis.blogspot.com/2010/07/week-10.html

Amy Stoker's Applications in GIS Blog. July 24, 2010. Here are two of my maps for Week 10. It's been a pretty frustrating week, but one thing that I did learn is if something doesn't seem to be working the way it should then start fresh. Save the layers and close Arcmap and change servers. It's as if Arcmap freezes up but you can't really tell except that things aren't working the way they are supposed to. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). UWF Special Topics in GIS. Amy Stoker's Applications in GIS Blog. June 13, 2010. The Role of GIS in Disaster Response. Today, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) plays an important role in disaster response and recovery. For example, it can be used to assess the extent of damage, provide infrastructure data to response teams, assist in the allocation of aid funds, and keep the community informed among many other uses. June 24, 2010 at 9:16 PM. Summary is great. Youre doing really well in class. Keep it up! David Renna Apps in GIS.

Was there any noticeable difference between its results and the results from the instructions? I ddin't notice any difference other than it took less steps to achieve the same results. Which tool did you use here? I used the erase tool. How many features are in this layer? What is the area of the largest feature? 7,765,034.493 meters. March 17, 2010. March 2, 2010. Intro ...

Amy Stoker's Applications in GIS Blog. June 2, 2010. Week 3 - Coastal Flooding from Hurricane Katrina. I didn't really have any trouble with this week's assignment. I used the map cache tool that was posted on the discussion board. What a lifesaver.or at least a frustration saver. It seems that it could take years and years for a person to learn all of the functions and tools within ArcMap. It's nice to know I'm catching on to some of them. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Amy Stoker's Applications in GIS Blog. February 26, 2010. Week 6 - Georeferencing Rasters. I really enjoyed this lab. I think it's amazing the things we can do with technology. I didn't really have any problems, except for a couple times I couldn't get the rasters to show up with the road and building files. Sometimes I tend to move around too fast for my own good. Amy Stoker's Applications in GIS Blog. June 9, 2010. These are two ESI maps created for Navarre, FL used to aid in the cleanup of the Deep Horizon Oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. I was excited at first to do this project, but it proved to be the most challenging. I had trouble reprojecting the raster file and I'm not happy with the results of these maps. The raster file just doesn't look right and I'm not sure how to make it look any better. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). UWF Special Topics in GIS.

Introduction to General Linguistics. Tuesday, January 6, 2009. FINALS: ALL CLASSES, ALL PROGRAMS. It seems that you are so worried about the exam. You don't need to, actually. The questions will be similar to those you had for Quiz 1. I will not ask about definitions. So, don't expect to answer questions like "What does 'homonym' mean? Or "What does pragmatics study? Or "What is a morpheme? What does ambiguity' mean? However, you have to UNDERSTAND. Yes again UNDERSTAND (NOT MEMORIZE). Please note: the c...

While the academy is nice, our class took place in a remote class room/range - very different from last year Defensive Rifle. One guy has FS2000 classic. Another...
