Tuesday, April 22, 2008. 1 The one metaphor in the poem is, "does it fester like a sore, and then run? The position is good, it is in the top of the middle and it comes in right after a few simiies, and is then followed by a few similies. Its effectiveness is very high. It stands out from the rest of the poem because it is the one metahphor and it is the most powerful line because it is a metaphor and not a similie among a poem full of them.
