The CONTACT study was a randomized clinical trial of a 12-session telephone-delivered intervention vs usual care for improving psychological distress and post-concussive symptoms in service members returning from deployment in Iraq and Afghanistan with mild traumatic brain injury. Patients & Families. Clinicians & Researchers. Recovery from mTBI may occur over a few days or weeks without intervention. There are some things you can do to facilitate getting better:. Get plenty of sleep at night. Avoid doing physically or cognitively demanding activities for a few days. Take rest breaks during the day. Avoid alcohol, drugs and tobacco. Do one thing at a time rather than trying to multitask. Take notes to help with remembering things. Moderate to Severe TBI.
