She sounds like Karine Polwart after a gap year hanging out with the Dalai Lama and listening to The Velvet Underground. Mike Scott, The Waterboys. The cosmic synth-folk of Marshall’s ‘Shtoom’ is so beautiful it’s quite upsetting. It is Mike Oldfield’s ‘Moonlight Shadow’ for the DIY pop generation. It is perfect. Nicola Meighan, The List. Lovely voice; a wee bit like Karine Polwart. I’m a big fan of this pastoral, picky acoustic music. It’s nice to hear something like that but with a modern edge.
