Barefoot Running | Condition Zero
https://gibsoncx.wordpress.com/sport/barefoot-running
Commercial contracts, in-house lawyering, and various stuff in between. Chris Gibson – About. Things I’m Reading. Earlier this month I picked up Born to Run. On Kindle (based on a random recommendation… I try to get hold of everything I’m recommended. Doesn’t always end well). 8221; I was also a bit disappointed to find not much of the book deals with the thinking about barefoot running – most of it is anecdotes and a jumbling story about a guy organising a trail run. Now why on earth would I do that?

Many athletes really neglect their feet and don’t realise the benefits of professionally fitted orthotics. JONATHAN LOVELOCK: The race is over. Thanks for the fun.
http://jonathanlovelock.blogspot.com/2014/02/the-race-is-over-thanks-for-fun.html
Tuesday, February 18, 2014. The race is over. Thanks for the fun. I’ve had plenty of people asking me questions lately. Here. Note: You can tell all the old links on the right of screen need updating, but, well, nah, can't be bothered]. Friends, family, colleagues, acquaintances, Asian travel advocates and fine food purveyors. It is with great regret that I have to announce that I ain’t gonna be racing no more. My knee is f ked. Knees are rather important to cycling. My right knee is. What, but how?

JONATHAN LOVELOCK: March 2012
http://jonathanlovelock.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 16, 2012. This place is insane. At present I find myself sitting around conserving energy and consuming carbohydrates in preparation for 35 kilometres of self flagellation in the Oceania time trial championship this afternoon. It should prove to be a tough little affair, although there are only 10 starters for elite men, with ever lasting honour and lactic acid laced agony on the line, it will, like always, good, hard and hopefully fast (for me anyway). What makes Queenstown cool. The place...

JONATHAN LOVELOCK: September 2012
http://jonathanlovelock.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 17, 2012. Genesys Training Camp; day 6. Filthy, bordering on horrendous. There were six of us out riding around the windy flats near Deloraine, Tasmania. Nearle, Dyball, Jai, Sammy D, Matt from Launie Homes and myself. About an hour into our ride we saw some pretty horrid looking black clouds coming in over the Tassie highlands. We pulled over and chucked on our rain jackets, extra gloves, head warmers, pretty much anything we could. It was a smart move. All of the above. And some.

JONATHAN LOVELOCK: CharterMason, and what happens after cycling
http://jonathanlovelock.blogspot.com/2014/06/chartermason-and-what-happens-after.html
Tuesday, June 10, 2014. CharterMason, and what happens after cycling. Racing a bike is fun. Writing articles is fun. Working with big-arse organisations and helping them make crucial business decisions is also fun. A cyclist. A journalist. A consultant. All three require preparation. All three require communication. All three occur in high pressure environments where your arse is literally on the line [or the road]. I’ve done the first two. For me, it’s time to start the third. What if it was never.
