Food Geek: July 2011

http://iowafoodgeek.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html

Friday, July 1, 2011. Iron Rich Black Eyed Peas. Winded going up and down the stairs again, which means it's time to add some Iron. Here's what's in my crock-pot now:. 1 lb dried black eyed peas. 2 cups homemade chicken broth. 1 can diced tomatoes with chilis. 2 tablespoons ground cumin. 1 small white onion, diced. 1 tablespoon chopped dried garlic or 3 tablespoons fresh. http://iowafoodgeek.blogspot.com/2013/09/a-delicious-way-to-fight-chicken.html

Saturday, September 28, 2013. A delicious way to fight the chicken industry and the federal government. Article about the federal government bailing out the chicken business. It's amazing how the real issue goes over everyone's head. The problem is consumers want white meat chicken. Legs and thighs aren't popular. Locavores need to blog chicken recipes that use dark meat. Quinoa and artisinal cabbage. That ought to solve the problem. I digress. As usual. But I Don't Know What To Do With A Whole Chicken!
