The Adventures of Ira and Dottie Jane

Wednesday, October 2, 2013. Ira had two birthday parties this year. Nana, Papa, Uncle Luke, Jack Jack, David, Holley, Jacob and our family friend Kyle came from Florida over Labor Day weekend to celebrate. We went to Opry Mills mall where the Birthday Boy rode the carousel, made an Obi wan Kenobi Bear at Build a Bear and won a ton of tickets at Dave and Busters. He had a blast! He spiked his hair for the special occasion. Ready to party in her cute little dress. Papa treated everyone to ice cream. About ...

The Adventures of Ira and Dottie Jane: December 2011

http://www.iramorros.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html

Wednesday, December 21, 2011. I don't know what holiday everybody else is celebrating because we're just getting around to posting pictures from Thanksgiving. I guess that's just the way we do things, a wee bit behind schedule. But if Kirsten has her way, we'll have multiple Chanukah and Christmas blog posts or at least one really long one. Aunt Drew came to Nashville for Thanksgiving so of course Ira took her to the Adventure Science Center. Ira and Aunt Drew try to figure out how to change a tire.

The Adventures of Ira and Dottie Jane: March 2013

http://www.iramorros.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html

Wednesday, March 6, 2013. U S Space and Rocket Center. We took a little day trip to Huntsville to visit the U. S. Space and Rocket Center. This was our first time going and Ira had a blast! At first, Ira was terrified of this ride but he probably ended up doing it 40 times before we made him stop. He screamed and giggled every single time. So many buttons to push. Obviously these things are not designed for pregnant women. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). U S Space and Rocket Center.

The Adventures of Ira and Dottie Jane: October 2012

http://www.iramorros.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html

Sunday, October 14, 2012. Ira turns 5, Plays Soccer and Goes to Charleston. Nana, Papa and Ira's cousin Cheyenne came from Pensacola to celebrate Ira's birthday. Nana and Papa gave Ira this Spiderman costume. He loved it so much he had to sleep with it on. These two were exhausted after a fun day together. Let the party begin! Two of Spiderman's favorites, Kyle and Jason. Papa throwing balls at children in the backyard. My big five-year-old blowing out his candle. Shooting a spiderweb at his guests.

The Adventures of Ira and Dottie Jane: August 2013

http://www.iramorros.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html

Thursday, August 15, 2013. When we first arrived in Charleston we were greeted by the entire Bloodworth family at Big G's house. Dottie Jane got passed around. Here it is Aunt Carol's turn. The next day we went to the water park. Ira had so much fun. He was a little timid in the water last year but this year he was really in to it. After the water park we went to dinner on the Wappoo Creek. Dottie Jane got passed around a little more. Big G finally got her turn. Ira's tongue eager for the first bite.

The Adventures of Ira and Dottie Jane: August 2012

http://www.iramorros.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html

Thursday, August 30, 2012. This 4th of July we visited Nonny and Poppy in New Orleans. Ira found little statues all over town of dogs made out of giant Mardi Gras beads. He found this one in Algiers Point, as we were about to board the ferry to cross to the French Quarter. Riding the ferry with Mommy. We had a lot of fun in the French Quarter but we were too gross and sweaty to share the photos. We managed to get a couple cute pictures the next day at the Audubon Zoo. Learning about snakes at the zoo.

This blog will show you how Kyle feeds one picky but very hungry Jason. My friend Alexandra is living in London right now while she's in school and I know that this blog post will be right up her alley. We're in a recession, right? So, what better way to celebrate than to make "candy" out of normal things like saltine crackers? Saltine crackers - you'll need enough to cover your cookie sheet, like 25-30. 1 cup brown sugar. 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips. 3/4 cup chopped nuts (I used almonds). Of cours...

feeding jason: Homemade Granola

http://feedingjason.blogspot.com/2008/12/homemade-granola.html

This blog will show you how Kyle feeds one picky but very hungry Jason. I love granola. I saw Barefoot Contessa. Make granola that she packaged and gave to her neighbors as holiday gifts (I Tivo. All of her episodes). This could not be easier. I'm going to give you the recipe with the ingredients that she used, but you could add anything you want really. It would be a nice gift for co-workers.who knows, maybe I'll bring some. 4 cups old fashioned oats. 2 cups sliced almonds. 1 cup shredded coconut.

This blog will show you how Kyle feeds one picky but very hungry Jason. Pork Chops and Applesauce. Ok, ok, no applesauce, just a baked potato. It was late, I was tired, but I decided to cook dinner anyway. We tried these cooking bags from McCormick. Posted by Kyle Jason. And for dessert. Nothing like Kroger brand ice cream cookies! Posted by Kyle Jason. They Can't All Be Good. That odd looking piece of red meat is barbecue chicken on top of pepper jack cheese grits (we love grits as a side dish). The...

This blog will show you how Kyle feeds one picky but very hungry Jason. Growing up, my mom would cook dinner for us every night.maybe that's where I get this from. Anyway, she never took the easy way out. I didn't have Hamburger Helper until I met Jason (very telling, isn't it? 1 lb ground beef. 1 large onion, chopped. 2 teaspoons minced garlic. 1 small can corn. 1 small can tomato sauce. 2 cans of water (just use the tomato sauce can). 5 shakes of Worcester Sauce (I maybe used 10 shakes). This blog will show you how Kyle feeds one picky but very hungry Jason. After tonight, I realized that we didn't have to go to Red Lobster for good shrimp scampi. This is one of those dishes that just seems really intimidating. It's so easy though! Like many of my other recipes, I got this one from the Barefoot Contessa. She recommends buying your shrimp fresh, not frozen if possible. I bought mine from the seafood counter at Publix.that as fresh as I can get, right? 3 Tablespoons olive oil. 4 Line your ...
