Blackstock Banter: November 2009
http://shivb.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 07, 2009. I have decided to switch blog servers. I have been thinking about it for a little while now, but finally made the move today. You can continue to follow my banterings. Sunday, November 01, 2009. Fortunately, a lot of the trainers from Marpole Curves, including the manager, will be working at Kerrisdale. The trainer who used to work Monday nights at Marpole will now be working Monday nights at Kerrisdale. That means there will be a familiar face tomorrow to show me the...

Blackstock Banter: Endings and Beginnings
http://shivb.blogspot.com/2009/11/endings-and-beginnings.html
Sunday, November 01, 2009. Tomorrow will be strange. I've already packed my gym bag and will have to remember to take it to work with me. I will have to remember to detour to the Kerrisdale club on my way home from work. Strange days lie ahead; of course what seems strange now will eventually become the norm, and my days at Marpole Curves will be a distant memory, lost in the cobwebs of my brain. Time to say goodbye. Time to say hello. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Chaperone (Laura Moriarty).

Blackstock Bookworm: Doomsday Book
http://blackstockbookworm.blogspot.com/2009/03/doomsday-book.html
Tuesday, March 17, 2009. My latest book club selection is the Doomsday Book by Connie Willis. This one happens to be my selection, so I need to come up with some questions for our book club meeting in April. I can't remember how I came across this book: I was either surfing book club recommendation websites; or Chapters or Amazon recommended it based on my purchases. If you like history, and the science fiction genre, I highly recommend this book. March 17, 2009 at 3:44 PM. October 8, 2009 at 6:57 AM.

Blackstock Bookworm: The Art of Racing in the Rain
http://blackstockbookworm.blogspot.com/2010/04/art-of-racing-in-rain.html
Tuesday, April 20, 2010. The Art of Racing in the Rain. Can you love and book and hate it at the same time? My answer is yes. That book is Garth Stein's the Art of Racing in the Rain. I spent the entire first chapter balling, hating the author, for his description of Enzo the dog at the end of his days was exactly, to a tee, describing my last days with Mack. And it didn't help matters that the dog on the cover of the book is the spitting image of Mack. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Blackstock Bookworm: ...ipsos Custodes
http://blackstockbookworm.blogspot.com/2009/03/ipsos-custodes.html
Saturday, March 7, 2009. I have just finished reading Watchman. Just in time to catch a matinee showing tomorrow. I have always loved comics. A guilty pleasure of mine. I have always been more intrigued by the Marvel world, my favourites, the X-men, but even I will agree DC has created the more classic characters: Batman, Superman, my personal favourites: Catwoman. And the Joker. And even more significantly for me, DC penned the first graphic novel I have ever read: Watchmen. Was it the graphics? 24 hour...

Blackstock Banter: February 2009
http://shivb.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 27, 2009. This week was a strange week. It went seemingly slow, but very fast. Slow because I was ready for Friday on Monday; and fast, because I can't believe Friday afternoon is already here. My weekend exercise marathon was capped off Sunday morning with an hour of hot yoga. And then it was back to Curves on Monday, a walk on Tuesday, Curves on Wednesday, dance class last night. I'm taking a break tonight, and heading out for dessert with some of the Croftie crew. p. I have the best b...
