Tuesday, February 6, 2018. The first of many. Looking to log our first sail of 2018, we find an empty dock calling us. The gulls on the shore are the only ones cheering us on. But, the magic of the water is enough to draw us forward. So, with temperatures in the seventies, and light and variable winds forecasted, we fill the sails and head out. With the Skipper on the watch and I at the helm, we make our way to the other side of the Forebay until the bridge piers stop our progress. Monday, January 8, 2018.

Friday, January 30, 2015. If I was just a bit bigger. If our Boat was a wee bit longer she could qualify to have a bowsprit. We wanted a glimpse of what that would look like. We are planing the three new additions to the Boatyard from Hughes Hardwoods. They are going to become the carlings, the pieces that form the backrest to the frames and the foundation to the decking. Friday, November 28, 2014. The Skipper and I welcome any donations for the Boatyard and we just received these four bronze clips from a friend. We do not know what they are called, or where they will go, but we appreciate them all the same. Any item from a boat is like gold to us. Just look at the patina on those pieces! Sunday, November 23, 2014. After sanding the area underneath the cleat, we have applied resin and put two screws in them to hold their position to level. The Skipper is prepping the resin.

Tuesday, July 21, 2015. Rubbing the right way. Cleanup of the hull and deck transition has begun. This is needed to ensure a good bearing between the rub rail and the Boat. There will not be any resin to glue the rail, only screws. It is assumed that this strip of wood will be beat up and in need of replacing often enough. Resin would make for a difficult removal. Saturday, July 25, 2015. I feel like a kid whittling a piece of wood on the front porch! I am cutting the port rub rail to the proper angle. The Skipper and I laid a center line string and marked the absolute straightest line we could. The last two screws are going in. Now, to sand the two pieces smooth and even.
