Dr Frankinspain Goes Fishing. This Blog is dedicated to my fishing adventures in North-Western Spain. Wednesday, April 4, 2012. Chelidonichthys lucerna (Tub Gurnard). One I caught and released. Their mating season is quite long from May to August and all year around Africa. They can be found in shallow water on sandy and muddy bottoms but other members of the Triglidae family can be found on rocky bottoms. They are quite tasty, firm meaty fish although very spiny. While I am more than happy with the solpara which is an outstanding rod for the price. And has never let me down the only thing was its range which is 0.5-5g and recently I found myself.
