You don’t have to be hardcore to enjoy cycling. Whether you’re biking with kids, or just out for a cruise, the following rides will make you smile. This is Ely’s family trail. Cyclists, walkers and runners enjoy the Trezona, but it’s never crowded. Most of the trail is paved except for a few miles of packed dirt on the north side of the loop. Tip: Kids and families don’t have to do the full loop. Ride part way around the lake then turn around. 63 km (4 mi). Note: A $5 day pass is required.

Don’t be fooled by Ely’s wilderness reputation. We have great road rides. We’ve listed some of our favorites below. Click on a ride to view its map and elevation profile. Rides leave from the Ely Bike Shop. Note: We also have group rides every Thursday during the summer. Please see our community. Page for more details. This is a very simple loop that visits the historic logging town of Winton. The Winton Loop is a good coffee ride and/or starting point for novice roadies. 15 km (9 mi). 136 m (445 ft).

This is one of the best places to ride in Ely. More than 25 kilometers of trails offer endless exploration. The trailhead includes ample parking and an outhouse. 25 km (16 mi). 312 m (1,024 ft). We’re also in the planning stages of building a new single track trail system for mountain biking in Ely. Please contact us. If you would like to be a part of this project. These leave every Thursday at 6:00 pm during the spring and summer (May 1st-Labor Day). September-October rides leave at 5:30 pm. Are great ways to stay abreast of impromptu rides and community bike events. Our local cycling club meets every second Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm at the Boathouse Brewpub. We get together to celebrate cycling and to advance cycling-related projects in and around Ely, MN. If you like bikes, then please join us. All are welcome! It’s a bike that you pedal on water!

Been ages since an update. Spent the spring/summer moving to a new house. I finally have a 32x28 dedicated shop! Now she rev's like a dream and is ready for some serious fuel/spark tuning.
