Ryan Alvey: Wards Ferry Climbfest
http://ryanalvey.blogspot.com/2012/03/wards-ferry-climbfest.html
Sunday, March 25, 2012. Once again it was supposed to rain and once again it didn't. This has occurred probably half a dozen times for me over the last few years. I'm sure I'll start to get cocky about the weather and one of these days I'll face a Spring Hill 2010. Click here for example. Of course, after watching this video I convinced myself I'm wrong. First of all, I'm certain he could handle a bike, since he also handled football and Jenny's mood swings. Secondly, have you seen him run? El Huevito...

Ryan Alvey: February 2012
http://ryanalvey.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 12, 2012. Folsom Classic Early Crit. This weather has been fantastic! I don't think I've ever been this fit this early in the season! I have a wonderful tan! I am so strong, there's no way anyone is as fit as I am! I'll probably win this race! All in all it was a fun early race and my finish was typical for me in a crit, but I feel I was able to shake the legs out a little more for the upcoming monster that is Cantua. Should be fun. I've been reading his blog for a few months and wanted ...

Ryan Alvey: October 2011
http://ryanalvey.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 31, 2011. It was a perfect afternoon so I decided to ride out to Folsom and bum a ride home from Chris after the races. I can't speak for the racing but the heckling at rodeocross was phenomenal! Last year we had to work our way up to a good crowd, but this year people were chomping at the bit to harass racers. I've uploaded a short video of the highlights here. Wednesday, October 26, 2011. Have you saved a turtle today? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Speed of Sound. Well, it won’t...

Ryan Alvey: January 2012
http://ryanalvey.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 2, 2012. I was dreaming of a warm post-Christmas. So I loaded up the wife, child, dog, bike and trike and hit the road to visit Juliette's folks down south. As you can see, the little one received a nice gift and insisted I fasten the red machine as securely as possible. Can you count how many straps are being used to secure the frame? Reminds me of someone else. The elusive Fred Malm in all his glory. Dude came flying by. Once I arrived I took in the view. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Ryan Alvey: July 2012
http://ryanalvey.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 28, 2012. Which is less aero, sideburns or euro-mullet? Jules says I can only grow them out 2 more inches and then it's a bit too much. I'm not sure how I feel about the comparison but at least no one called me Lance. Monday, July 23, 2012. Pescadero, Little City and Misfortune. Obviously, I'm not delusional, so though I enjoyed the images from sprint wins, my focus was on the solo victory:. No idea, for when I returned to look for my computer I found it. Exit question: I have had two of t...

Monday, July 23, 2012. Pescadero, Little City and Misfortune. Obviously, I'm not delusional, so though I enjoyed the images from sprint wins, my focus was on the solo victory:. 1 Ensure one’s jersey is fastened to the top and shall be perfectly aligned so all title sponsors are clearly visible. 2 One shall take a quick look behind prior to victory to gloat at the peloton’s futile second place sprint. No idea, for when I returned to look for my computer I found it. July 23, 2012 at 2:01 PM. Now that bicyc...

Ryan Alvey: Golden State Crits and Circuit
http://ryanalvey.blogspot.com/2012/05/golden-state-crits-and-circuit.html
Tuesday, May 15, 2012. Golden State Crits and Circuit. I'm not particularly good at crits, but I've decided I like them anyway and would like to figure them out. This past weekend was the Golden State Series, a local and enjoyable couple of days of racing. Saturday I was able to do the 30 4/5 as well as elite 4 category. I'm not actually at the back in this picture. Perhaps people don't like riding behind me. You guys can be honest, am I squirrelly? May 16, 2012 at 5:36 PM. The Speed of Sound. Well, it w...

Ryan Alvey: November 2011
http://ryanalvey.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 17, 2011. The American River Bike Trail, a true gift to cyclists. It's 33 miles of majestic and winding trail from Sacramento to Folsom, totally natured and without traffic, and there-in lies it's deviousness. Sure, I've been clipped by angry/distracted drivers, dealt with glass on roadways, dodged giant potholes, but "The Trail" has a way of lulling you into a false sense of security. You think it's safe but here are just a few of the obstacles to contend with:. Anywho, Malm and I wer...

Ryan Alvey: Folsom Cyclebration
http://ryanalvey.blogspot.com/2012/06/folsom-cyclebration.html
Wednesday, June 13, 2012. With Little City Stage race in a month, I thought it would be wise to try for multiple day racing. Folsom Cyclebration is a well put together series. Sadly I couldn't make the Circuit Race on Sunday. But I did enjoy the TT on Friday and didn't hate the crit on Saturday. I was able to work in one more day on Thursday at a local twilight crit series a coach is starting up. Photo credit: Brian Malmers. I can't believe I let the white t-shirt team beat me for 2nd.
