My Mother's House: January 2009
http://mabennionshouse.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 13, 2009. Finishing work takes so much longer while it is happening then you ever think it will. We are so close to being done. The floors are done (all but a small patch upstairs that is waiting for another box of lumber). The painting is just about done. (just the laundry and garage to go). The electrical finishing work is almost done. The appliances are almost all in, (just the fridge and the propane to go for the range). Here are some pictures of what is new this week. There will be ...

If this house isn't empty I'll eat all of you. Friday, June 06, 2008. Originally uploaded by The Anchovy. I made this package as a birthday gift for our 5 year old neighbor. It is a tote bag with her initials, a pencil roll, and a small zipper pouch holding a sharpener and an eraser. Inside the tote is a nice pad of drawing paper. The floral fabric is a nice heavy thrifted sheet. The red is a thick chunky woven fabric of some kind ( I need to learn fabric names.). Links to this post. My Byrd House (Lucy).

If this house isn't empty I'll eat all of you. Friday, May 30, 2008. A week or so I signed up for a fabric scrap swap at Itchin 2 B Stitchin. Links to this post. Saturday, May 24, 2008. The past month has been ridiculously busy but now I am glad to say that things have slowed a bit. School is over (summer break! And I turned in a pretty major grant application. I'm happy to have it all finished. Now I can show you some of the things I've been working on (in the wee hours of the night). Links to this post.

If this house isn't empty I'll eat all of you. Tuesday, March 25, 2008. Todd came home on Saturday afternoon which was great because that was my 30th birthday. I am now 30. Hooray! It feels like this will be a good age. I had fun getting ready for Easter with the kids. On Friday night we dyed our eggs. I boiled a dozen but a few of them cracked so we ended up with only nine. That was funny because our egg dye kit came with nine colors. So it didn't take us long at all to dye them all. Links to this post.

If this house isn't empty I'll eat all of you. Friday, May 30, 2008. A week or so I signed up for a fabric scrap swap at Itchin 2 B Stitchin. I recognize some of those! I hope they find good homes. I hear my sister-in-law is going to do a thinning of her HUGE stash. Interested? I'm dying to go through it. I wonder if we could do a day trip with or without some kids. . .with gas prices, would it be worth it? And guess who the recipient is! Well, there are many features that makes the hermes bag. Makes man...

If this house isn't empty I'll eat all of you. Tuesday, March 06, 2007. I haven't written in a LONG time, I know. But my mind and time have both been filled to capacity with the thing that I cannot yet write about, for fear of jinxing big time. But here and there I've still been able to do some decent making, I think. I recently received the Crafter's Companion. And I think it's fantastic. There was one project inside that I've been wanting to make for months, ever since I saw the sneak peak. I studied a...

If this house isn't empty I'll eat all of you. Tuesday, January 15, 2008. Handmade Christmas: Play Silks. This year Santa brought play silks for Zoë. We bought them from Dharma Trading Company. I bought seven of the 35" square Habotai scarves and two of the 35 X 84" veils. I think some people use the satin silk scarves for play silks but I like the low sheen of the Habotai a little better. The veils are definitely thinner silk than the scarves, but that just makes them more fluttery. Links to this post.

If this house isn't empty I'll eat all of you. Saturday, December 29, 2007. Handmade Christmas: Mix CD. I thought I'd go over a few of the gifts that I made for Christmas this year. I almost never document the things I make and although I almost can't believe this, I'm finding that I actually forget some of the things I've made for people. So this year I'm taking notes. First, the outside case. I didn't make this up at all. I followed the directions for the portfolio box from this book. I pretty much wan...

Jeanne's Life: Monochromatic Color Challenge Swap
http://jeanne-b.blogspot.com/2009/04/monochromatic-color-challenge-swap.html
Thursday, April 30, 2009. Monochromatic Color Challenge Swap. I actually got this wonderful little quilt-let about a month ago but have been very busy, (my life is about to get even busier) But I must say how wonderful it is. It came all the way from Trisha in Seattle Washington at http:/ www.tlcstitches.blogspot.com/. She said it represents her spring time which is rainy. I love yellow and red so it is perfect. A big Thank You. Labels: 4 season quilt swap. Thanks for sharing the cute monochromatic quilt!
