Irrelevant Process

Wednesday, April 17, 2013. Thanks Dr. Seldinger, all I need to do is learn this (from wikipedia. It's not what I wanted to do when I signed up for radiology, but it's great to know that in a short month I've been able to pick up a lot of these techniques. Simpler (nonvascular) procedures are often also done by other types of radiologists and I would love to be able to do some procedures in whatever branch of diagnostic radiology I end up in. I'll just leave the wire twisting to the professionals. After t...

Irrelevant Process: December 2012

http://irrelevantprocess.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html

Saturday, December 29, 2012. Hobby Lobby breaks the law. One of the first companies that was on my list of companies. That mix religion and business, Hobby Lobby, and its sister company, Mardel, has decided to break the law. Yes, it's been a while since my last post, but radiology is not as light as I expected it to be. More on that soon.). Quick update: A federal district court allows another company. Irrelevant Process: May 2012

http://irrelevantprocess.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html

Sunday, May 27, 2012. Tuesday, May 22, 2012. The danger of quacks. A major argument that supporters of alternative medicine use is that it causes no harm, so they might as well try it. Of course, that's pure crap. Alternative treatments cause harm in numerous ways: Untested drugs and techniques have side effects and interactions, they're a huge waste of money, and, most importantly, they keep patients from receiving actual treatment that works. Irrelevant Process: Some updates to the ever-growing lists

http://irrelevantprocess.blogspot.com/2013/04/some-updates-to-ever-growing-lists.html

Friday, April 12, 2013. Some updates to the ever-growing lists. Been pretty busy the last few weeks and am a little behind on updating my lists. As sham journals (and scam journals) are on the rise. There has been a recent push towards recognizing predatory open source "journals" that take your money, but have nothing to do with peer reviewing or sometimes even publishing your work. Scholarly open access. Has an ever growing list that I couldn't possibly top, so a link will get added to my list. Certifie...

Tuesday, April 10, 2012. Dental X-rays: Not without risk. Last year, I was at a routine dental visit when my dentist said that it's time to get an X-ray. Remembering that I had an X-ray in my last visit 6 months ago, I asked why? He said that my insurance allows a panorex. I am glad I did. This study. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Returning after a Long Hiatus | The Eventual Doc

https://eventualdoc.wordpress.com/2010/04/08/returning-after-a-long-hiatus

Facing the gauntlet that is the American medical school admissions process. Returning after a Long Hiatus. No, I’m not dead. These past few months have been fairly busy, and I haven’t had the time to post much of anything lately. Luckily, today marks a brief lull in the action, and I have returned once again! Hopefully my return is welcome to the two people who actually read my blog.🙂. It only takes one. And I’ve got it! University of Michigan (my father’s. Washington University in St. Louis. Life as a Nonsmoker | The Eventual Doc

Facing the gauntlet that is the American medical school admissions process. Life as a Nonsmoker. Leave a comment ». For some reason, but otherwise, I’m doing pretty okay on the Chantix. Everyone (at least, everyone who’s ever smoked) has seen the list of changes over time that occur once a smoker quits, I’m sure. It’s certainly an encouraging list, but it has little in the way of impact for me, as these changes aren’t something you can. After two hours nicotine begins to leave your system. To get elimina...

Another Disappointment | The Eventual Doc

https://eventualdoc.wordpress.com/2009/12/03/another-disappointment

Facing the gauntlet that is the American medical school admissions process. Sorry it’s been so long. I’ve been preoccupied, and time flew away faster than I would have liked. So it is now December. I understand that there are still plenty of interviews to be distributed, but I must admit I am hard-pressed to feel that I will be the recipient of one of them. To wit, University of Michigan has passed on interviewing me. School so far that seems to have even. In the intervening weeks between my last post an...

So that leaves me with a week of school, one exam, and a summer before I begin my MSc and i’ve got some things on my mind. I hope you don’t mind me unloading in the form of a list. I get a head start on my project. Con:. I lose my last real summer vacation.

A Return | The Eventual Doc

https://eventualdoc.wordpress.com/2012/07/15/a-return

Facing the gauntlet that is the American medical school admissions process. Leave a comment ». Occasionally, I will go through old binders, drawers, or folders, and find papers that I had written years before. I find, at such times, that I often only barely recognize myself in them (dependent, obviously, upon how remotely it was written). So it is with this blog. I was only very recently reminded that I had even begun one when I commented on another WordPress blog. Written by The Eventual Doc.

Thursday, April 29, 2010. 1950's "Types of things to come". Hello, I realize that it has been close to a year since my last official post, sorry to disappoint the fanbase. Tonight I was collecting some information on life in the 1950's for my wife's US History class tomorrow. I found some great images on an interesting website dedicated to documenting and preserving iconic 1950's images. The website is called Plan59. I haven't heard any postulation about green clouds, but it's a frightening thought.
