The Silver Lakes Story. In the summer of 2003, we, a group of like-minded believers, met together for prayer, believing that God was leading us in a new direction. We shared the common dream of a church that would reach out to all. In December of 2004, we called Ronnie and Rhonda Lawson as our pastors and began meeting at the Hot Skillet restaurant near Alvord. Silver Lakes Community Church functions as an autonomous (self-governing) church affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), the Baptist General Convention of Texas (BGCT), and the Harvest Baptist Association (HBA). These affiliations allow us to partner with thousands of other believers to support mission work locally (HBA), throughout the state of Texas (BGCT), and around the world (SBC). We view these affiliations as an opportunity to fulfill Jesus’ command in Acts 1:8:. September 4, 2016.

The class for youth (grades 6-12) meets from 10-10:30 am (during the first part of worship, then they join the adults for the sermon). The children and preschool meet from 10:30-11:15 am There is also a class for adults that meets from 9-9:45 am Come join us as we study God’s Word together. September 4, 2016.
