Isaac in Kenya
Random, hopefully interesting, stuff about my trip to Kenya. Sunday, April 4, 2010. Isaac is no longer in Kenya; he is back to Jefferson City, in the middle of Missouri, in the middle of the US of A. I thoroughly enjoyed my journey and I hope you have enjoyed reading this blog. My twenty-five hour trip home was uneventful, except that, due to security, I would have missed my flight out of Dulles had my plane not been delayed two hours. 독일에서 성악을 전공하신 분과 이야기를 나눈 적이 있다. 독일에서 합창단원을 하다가 지금은 스위스 시립 합창단원으로 직장을 얻어 정착하셨다. 그분의 이야기에 따르면 독일은 동네마다 합창단이 잘 조직 되어있고 안정적으로 운영이 된다고 한다. 특히 여자 알토 파트는 수요에 비해 공급이 적어서 구직이 비교적 수월하다고 했다. 합창단 일자리가 많아서 원한다면 (그리고 심심하고 단조로운 유럽 생활에 만족한다면) 성악 전공자가 독일에 정착하기 쉽다고 한다. 실제로 한국에서 성악 유학을 가는 분들 중에 이탈리아로 가시는 분들은 귀국하시는 분들이 많고 독일 쪽은 남는 분들이 꽤 된다고 들었다. 신학도 아울러 전공하신 그분께서는 독일에는 기독교의 유산이 사회 전반에 여전히 남아있다고 몇차례 언급 했다. 지금은 독일도 다른 유럽국가들과 마찬가지로 세속국가라고 봐야하지만 문화/사회적으로는 종교개혁자들의 사상을 기반으로 기틀을 잡은 나라이고 그 중에서 루터의 영향이 가장 컸다. 마지막으로 독일인의 경제 관념이다....
