Isabel and Chris on the Road. Travels in SE Asia. Monday, 18 May 2009. Volunteering in Khao Lak. After a lovely weekend in Bangkok (laundry, a pool - heaven! Delicious food, bbq with friends, a major trip to Tesco Lotus to restock wardrobe) we headed to Khao Lak by overnight sleeper train to Surat Thani. After a somewhat tedious three hour wait in the middle of the night at Surat train station (at least there was a 24 hour SevenEleven - how I have come to love that shop in the last few weeks!

Much as I love it, the heat and pollution do start to get you down after a while.
