My first version was the floral one and the sleeves hovered at that awkward space above my wrists but since they were shirred I just push them up. This version I shortened the sleeves by 1 1/2 inches. No other changes were made! We still have Christmas decorations up here, meehhhh why not leave them up? Links to this post.

Follow Bobbin and Baste. The pattern in question is McCalls 6696. A lovely shirt dress with either straight or pleated skirt options. It's been a very popular pattern to sew up if the internets is anything to go by and I concur with the positive reviews having now made my own version. A collection of hand made goodies to warm your hearts and your homes! Ok, so I’ve got one more entry into the Willow and Co sewing contest. So many great prizes, I just had to try and get this one finished. I’ve been sewing into the wee hours to get it finished, my first Fawn Lily and some sweet Clovers to match. I added a layer of lace, which made the construction of the fawn lily a little more difficult, but got there in the end🙂 The shorts are made from cotton sateen, which was lovely to work with.
