League City Daily Photo. Thursday, November 30, 2006. Today was the Helen Hall Library Open House and the official lighting of the city Christmas tree. There was food, drinks, a balloon artist, and, of course, Santa Claus! Normally, we would all go outside for the tree lighting (it's a living tree outside of the library), but since it's 30 degrees outside and we south Texans aren't used to that kind of thing, we just watched from inside as the tree was lit.
