Keio is arranged so that the holiday break happens across Christmas and New Year, and then there is another month of frantic classes tacked on before we all clear out in early February. One of my (admittedly flippant) reasons to go abroad was that this would be one year I wouldn't be whacked over the head with wanderlust when the fall came. I would already be wandering! The sense of smothered longing would not appear at inconvenient times (5 AM, history class) and make me unable to concentrate! I was wrong, of course. This way is trespassing.

Since then I have painted and designed bikes, cut lugs, welded, brazed and polished, made graphics, written all kinds of things, wrangled cats, chased woodchucks, painted backdrops, set up two editions of the 'cross race, traveled, learned and gawked. It's been extraordinary. That I update occasionally.
