trekkingthesea: October 2013
http://trekkingthesea.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
The continuing sailing adventures of Jen and Glenn. Sunday, October 27, 2013. The original Savage Oceanic 42 yacht. Just by chance we shared the anchorage with the very first Jack Savage Oceanic 42/46 Kinta III. Her present owner Dave has been sailing her for the past 20 years. Wow I was impressed. Between us we have page 1 and 2 of the 'blue prints' and Dave has promised to scan copies of review articles from old sailing magazines. We are looking forward to having him as a guest aboard. He s...Referring...

trekkingthesea: June 2013
http://trekkingthesea.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
The continuing sailing adventures of Jen and Glenn. Sunday, June 23, 2013. A miracle or a future washing machine? One of yesterdays feeding troupe having a rest. Where we shelter for the night is always a very informed decision. Glenn has a life long passion (. An alpine retreat, with chocolate drinks and wooly sox. We sure don't want snow. Useful trivia: DUNNAGE: cargo secured against shifting seas, typically by lengths of timber used to brace. Less commonly called FARDAGE. Update on my spoon: thanks to...

trekkingthesea: Wide Bay Bar crossing. Our grand entry into Mooloolaba
http://trekkingthesea.blogspot.com/2013/11/wide-bay-bar-crossing-our-grand-entry.html
The continuing sailing adventures of Jen and Glenn. Sunday, November 10, 2013. Wide Bay Bar crossing. Our grand entry into Mooloolaba. Up and moving at sunrise. So why such an early start? Being an 'evening person' I call it 'extreme sailing'). Benign: Wide Bay Bar. We enjoyed the day of sail south. The winds gradually increased as forecast. By the time we needed to drop the head sail the waters were becoming choppy. The vessel pictured past us heading out to sea and took many waves over the bow. We line...

trekkingthesea: Good things about Bundy
http://trekkingthesea.blogspot.com/2013/11/good-things-about-bundy.html
The continuing sailing adventures of Jen and Glenn. Saturday, November 2, 2013. Good things about Bundy. Faithful readers of this blog may recall that Glenn was never fond of Bundaberg. Our unintended extended stay last time still hits a sour note for him. (the anchor winch motor replacement: part 1) Here we are in Bundy again and enclosed by hostile southerly winds and weather for four days. What a great name. Good things happen to create balance for the grumpier aspects of life. What's that cloud doing?

trekkingthesea: Where the wild things roam.
http://trekkingthesea.blogspot.com/2013/11/where-wild-things-roam.html
The continuing sailing adventures of Jen and Glenn. Thursday, November 7, 2013. Where the wild things roam. The dingoes of Fraser Island are the purest breed on Eastern Australia. We saw this pair split up for hunting and pad around the muddy foreshores at Garry's anchorage. Last time we visited I thought the warning sign was a bit of a joke. I wonder if the crocodile signage is also current and correct. I might station Spotter Glenn in an obvious location next visit. Wild dingoes on patrol at sunset.

Glenn: I Had a phone call from a Sydney friend last week while we were tied up at the marina in Manly. He asked "Where are you? Manly" I replied, "What, you're back in Sydney? Saturday morning: kids in skiffs. (obstacle course leaving Manly). We boasted to our fellow sailors. Anchorage Big Sandhills Moreton Island. Sunday, July 28, 2013. Thursday, July 25, 2013.
