Monday, March 16, 2015. All of these flowers were growing along the chain link fence near Sea Hawk Divers. I don't think there were as many flowers blooming this year when we were on Isla. Tuesday, September 23, 2014. Going to Try to get back into Blogging! Last week I happened to look out the window and saw a flock of turkeys close to the house. So close I could only take photos through a window- if I had opened a door they would have run away! So the cat was in the room with me and really wanted to go out, but I don't think he would have known what to do when confronted with them- they could have pecked him to death! Friday, October 31, 2014. I love the hibiscus on Isla Mujeres! I used to go into the garden at Maria Del Mar Hotel and see the varied colors of flowers, but it seems to be only open to hotel guests now. There are still many to see around the island! Friday, October 24, 2014. Decided to start posting photos of Isla Mujeres on Fridays ( where we go in the winter). Thought this would be the perfect title for the posts. Starting today- it's 3 months til we go- can't wait to see the sunrise!

Tuesday, May 12, 2015. For about a week I had been chatting with my friend, Carol about her coming over to see the bison- she is a painter and wants to take some photos and then create paintings. So I arranged with my neighbor Theresa to take us on the farm to see them. Theresa and Carol walking down to the field where the mommas and new babies are. Wednesday, January 7, 2015. Wildlife Wednesday- Another Fox photo. These photos are from February 2010. I happened to look out the window and see this fox walking around outside. Of course I grabbed my camera and started shooting! It walked across the driveway and into the field behind the barn. Then it just stopped and looked around.I kept taking photos.Little did I know until I put them onto the computer that it had stopped to go to the bathroom! You never know what you will see!

Wednesday, November 5, 2014. A male Highland cattle at the neighbors. Technically I know these aren't wildlife but thought I would post anyway. Besides raising bison, our neighbors also have 3 head of Highland cattle.

Monday, August 17, 2015. All 3 of these taken in my yard earlier in August. Didn't see the fly om this black-eyed susan until I put it on the computer! Macro photography is a favorite of mine! Tuesday, August 11, 2015. We have a hummingbird feeder outside our kitchen window that has a lot of activity on a sunny day. Once it stopped rainy this afternoon one bird showed up and has been around for awhile. Just sitting on the shepherds hook and flying to the feeder every so often. I love having a zoom lens!

Spent a fun Sunday afternoon on Isla with Gaby, Marilyn and Miguel ( Gaby's boyfriend) he's very inventive. he decided to make a kite- using a teeshirt fot the body and the tail of the kite. Marilyn and Gaby on Playa Norte. Miguel with the kite. Tough to find the space to fly a kite on the crowded beach on a Sunday afternoon- but they did! Now it's stuck in a palm tree! Tuesday, December 9, 2014. Peanut Butter Swirl Bars. An old post revamped- making these to take my brothers for Christmas- a family favorite! Chocolate and Peanut Butter- what could be better! This is one of my go-to recipes when I need something to take to a picnic or party. I can't remember a time growing up when we didn't make these- my Mom still makes them when she knows we'll be visiting! Originally posted in 2009- my Mom passed away in 2011). Peanut Butter swirl bars. 1/2 c chunky peanut butter.
