June 05, 2016. Traffic Restrictions and Trail Closure Due to Road Repaving at. Prince Edward Island National Park. Parks Canada would like to inform visitors, Islanders and stakeholders that beginning Monday, August 22, road resurfacing will continue on the Gulf Shore Parkway East between Covehead and Ross Lane. While this work is underway, the Gulf Shore Parkway will be open to one lane of traffic only. Additionally, the section Gulf Shore Way trail adjacent to the construction zone will be closed.

North Cape Nature Trail. North Cape Coastal Drive. 47057292, -63.995990. The North Cape Nature Trail lies on the windswept northwest tip of the Island. Due to its location the area was slow and late for settlement, and due to its topography it remains largely open today. In addition to marsh birds and common birds of the Island on one side, from the cliff you may see terns and gulls, cormorants, loons, scoter, old squaw. Today I was snowshoeing with a group in the National park in Dalvay, About 24-25 in the group. We were out on Long Pond for part of the hike. All told we hiked a little less than 3 km.
